Leo’s Coney Island — Restaurant in Chesterfield Township

This was my first and last time going to this location. Complete disregard for transparency in pricing which is disrespectful behavior toward their customer.

This Leo's opened within the past few months. First time there. I have dinner with my family and separately ordered two loose hamburgers with grilled onions for my lunch the following day. Menu says $2.99 per loose hamburger. I paid the carryout order with a $20 bill. After ringing my order, he counts my change back as $11.54. So it actually cost $8.46 (food + tax) yet should have been $6.34. I thought that was not right so I grab a menu and sure enough it says $2.99. Check should have been $6.34. I address the cashier believing there was a mistake. He says "No mistake. The grilled onions are extra" I said "it comes with onions, I just asked to have them grilled. I go to different Leo's and NEVER get charged for grilled onions." He says "I don't make the prices." I said "true, but your server should have told me there is an up-charge of $1 per hamburger to grill the onions (33% of the cost of the hamburger for grilled onions??? Puuuulllleeeeze). Again, he says "I don't make the prices and I'm not going to give you a refund." He would not refund the difference nor offer to take them back for a full refund. Admittedly, it's my fault that I should have asked for a check before handing him the $20, but then again, I've never paid to have the onions grilled. Lesson learned. Don't waste your hard earned money on this location because they don't respect...

Horrible customer service especially the manager Jamie she is EXTREMELY rude!

I asked the waitress for a high chair the waitress told me where they were at and I could go grab one (remind you I’m 6 months pregnant holding a 1 year old)

We placed our order at 8:30 and didn’t find out until 8:50 that they did not have what I ordered in stock and I needed to change my order. There were only 3 other booths full so we weren’t extremely busy but they were busy chatting with each other sitting in booths having a drink or whatever they were doing.

The customer in the booth next to mine was trying to flag someone down due to the fact he was sitting there for over 10 mins and no one has came to his table at all and he was trying to order a drink. So when someone did finally come to his table he was complaining etc. and I said “I completely agree” (I think he was saying something along the lines of he shouldn’t have to wait this long let alone have to flag someone down) and the manager (his waitress Jamie) RUDLY says to me “I’m not talking to you” I said “excuse me all I was doing was agreeing with the customer you are talking to” she proceeded to bad mouth me etc. so at that point I left because if anything a MANAGER should have apologized or at least not disrespect a paying customer I was in absolute shock and will NEVER be going back...

I Have been back often over the past few weeks. The food is very good and the service is now excellent. They have overcome their initial issues with some of the inexperienced staff. Very professional and experienced staff (Alisha, Samantha and Trisha), add to the enjoyable experience.

They did have some problems last Sunday when they were understaffed and a little overwhelmed. HOWEVER, they apparently making some changes to make sure the high volume days/times will be well covered. I'll be there on Sunday morning to enjoy the good food and service.

The hot dogs are great, particularly the New York style. I didn't like the Chicago style, which didn't resemble any Chicago style hotdog I've ever had.

The Chile is great. Can't wait for those upcoming chilly days when Chile is the best.

Two weeks ago.... Promising. Very nice appearance. Food is good. Waitstaff is still learning mostly young and inexperienced. Need to be patient and give them time to gain experience and learn from the one experienced server. Have tried breakfast and lunch. Will try a dinner this weekend. Have been back four more times in the past week. The service crew is working well together and service is professional and quick. The hot dogs are the best quality in the county.
