We were in here last weekend to try it for the first time because we had heard they have really good cinnomon rolls and breakfast. When we arrived, it had a cozy former home atmosphere that quickly dwindled away as there were grumpy patrons lined up and staff seemed to be in a bad mood because the kitchen was backed up on orders, we can hear the cooks yelling at each other at the door, and was contributing to customers not getting seated at tables that were open. There were open seats but they didn't want to overwhelm the kitchen. We patiently waited about 15 to 20 minutes to be seated, which was fine, we were in no rush, unlike one very grumpy elderly man that came in and threw his attitude in the hostess's face. That wasn't very nice to see, they were doing what they could. Anyways, we got seated and ordered our food, we had to wait about another 20 minutes for the food to be prepared because the kitchen staff was still shorthanded. We both ordered specials that they had on the menu. I had the Motherclucker Sandwich, which sounded pretty good and I liked the name. My partner ordered the Grandma's waffles. When the food arrived however, we were kind of disappointed. The sandwich I had was just meat stacked on top of one another and there was a cheese slice that looked like it was from Walmart fresh out of the bag, not even melted. It was also very dry, and really needed some sort of sauce to make it come together. It was also supposed to come with a soft poached egg and fries. The egg was basically hard boiled, and it did not arrive with fries and I had to ask for them. The fried chicken it had on it was cooked well and was tasty. The grandma's waffles were awful. They were supposed to be topped with country gravy and sunny side up eggs. The waffles seemed undercooked, bland, doughy and somehow still dry. The eggs were not cooked enough, the whites were still very much raw and slimy and after a couple of bites, we could not stomach it. We tried to save it with maple syrup, but that didn't help it. We did have a cinnomon roll that we had to remind them of, but it was a really good roll. Very delicious, and would recommend if you really like cinnomon rolls. Our server was very thankful and appreciative for our patience with them while they were having issues internally that day. She did a great job. Maybe we just came on a not so great day for them, and it clearly showed they were not working together as a team. Maybe we will give it another try at some point and hope that the staff is not grumpy with eachother, but the first impression was...
Read moreI read the reviews after we ate there and I'm honestly surprised. Not sure if it was an off day for the cooks or what but this place barely deserves 3 stars imo. The staff was super friendly and I have no issue with them. The food however was no better if not worse than any big chain restaurant I've ever eaten at. Started with a cinnamon roll which was super soggy and was covered in frosting which was broke and pretty gross appearing. By broke I mean the butter separated from the cream. That's a pretty basic thing to make right. Flavor was ok if you could get past the soft soggy dough and separated frosting. Next was the food we ordered. I went for the daddy of em all omelet and overall I give it a 2 out of 5. Hardly any flavor at all and was basically a fritatta folded in half covered in what tasted like La Victoria salsa.. Not impressed. The country potatoes were super plain and soggy as well. No seasoning at all short of maybe a pinch of salt and pepper. I also had a side of sausage which they only have in patty form which is fine but it wasn't good. Jimmy Dean is better than what they are offering. All in all my meal was not great and barely good. My wife's order was French toast and 2 eggs fried over hard, she liked the toast but her eggs came out more raw than cooked, far from over hard. It was getting busy so she just didn't eat her eggs. My daughter got the same French toast and a cup of fruit. Fruit did look to be fresh so that was good, pretty hard to mess up fresh fruit. All in all, I was dissapointed. I don't like chain restaurants and as a small business owner I like to try to support other small businesses but this place has a long ways to go before I try it again. If I wanted something like Shari's, Culver's, IHOP, etc. I would've gone there. I was really hoping to have a regular decent bfast place in cheyenne, this will not be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Omelet House, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The menu is a delightful array of options, but I couldn’t resist trying one of their signature omelets. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and creativity. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors perfectly balanced, and the portions generous.
The service was top notch! The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our coffee cups were never empty and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Their friendly demeanor and passion for their work truly enhanced our dining experience. The ambience of the Omelet House is another highlight. The decor is charming and tasteful, creating a relaxed almost “home” feel. Whether you are there for a casual breakfast or a special brunch, the setting is perfect. The Omelet House exceeded all my expectations. The combination of delicious food, outstanding service, and welcoming atmosphere makes it a must visit when in Cheyenne. I can’t wait for my next visit and the opportunity to explore more of their menu. Highly...
