Very cute tea shop with tons of items we normally can’t find locally and wonderful atmosphere. I used to come here frequently but have experienced unpleasant service/food products for the past couple of months. The last time I ordered a blackberry spritzer (based on what the customer ahead of me ordered-it looked fantastic) I received a tepid cup of blackberry seed mush mixed with completely flat tap water. It didn’t resemble the drink description or what other customers had gotten at all. When I picked it up and realized it’s was…icky, for lack of a better description…I couldn’t get the staff’s attention to ask about it. So I left and had to go purchase a sparkling water somewhere else just to salvage my 10.00 dollar drink. Every time I’ve come in this summer for a drink or snack, I’ve gotten the distinct impression that the staff are really having a bad day and would rather not be dealing with customers. Everyone has a bad day every once in awhile I get it, but when you bring an out of town guest in to drop 10 bucks on a drink and even they have a bad experience it’s just a bummer. There is one standout employee who has been there for years and whose name I can’t remember at the moment, but she is a true gem and always super helpful and thoughtful though. The drinks, when made correctly, are really great and the atmosphere is lovely with lots of plants and charming gifts so I don’t want to be unfair in a review,...

EDIT: I had to change this to 5 stars because the owner took accountability and actually updated the soup sign to reflect the hours. This is 100% a business for the people! They listen, they care, they adapt to their customers needs.

As a travel nurse, I like to find local places in each new area I work in. Stumbled upon this cute little tea shop and gift shop. Teas are delicious and fresh made. Coffee is pretty limited. They have pre-made food options which are decent. I had to take a few stars away because of the soup. Can't say if it's good or not because every time I try to get it, they don't have it available. The first time was a Monday at 4pm after work. The woman working said they stop serving at 3pm because of health safety concerns, and if I come in any time before 3 I'll be able to get soup. Went in the next day at 2:30pm and different woman working said they stop serving soup at 2pm. Went in today, Saturday, at 10am before embarking on a day trip, and was told they don't start serving soup until 11am. Extremely frustrating that the soup is inconsistently served and you have to just guess at what hours they'll have it based on who is working that day. A way to fix this is post your soup hours on your soup sign and have consistent...

Hawthorn Tree is probably one of the best places in town for a unique selection of teas. They have delicious coffee as well. Since I've never been to Hawthorn Tree until today, I asked for a recommendation from the barista so I tried the lavender latte. It was delicious!

I've had lavender lattes in other places in town as well but they were not as good as what I enjoyed here. It was creamy, smooth, and floral without tasting artificial and comfortable for a caffeine-sensitive stomach like mine.

For food, I tried the Curried Chicken Salad and had to say, it was fantastic. It looked and tasted like yellow curry so it was sweet and non-spicy. It went well with the chicken, the burst of grape and apple, crunch of cashews, and the texture and taste of raisins.

The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, the establishment was clean, and overall, I was very impressed. Compared to other places in town, which I have tried just about all of them, I'd say this is my favorite spot and absolutely recommend coming here...

The service is amazing, walking in is beautiful. They brew by hand, their cold brew doesn’t come from a can, & their Chai is also hand made! No one does that around here besides them!!! That’s a fact. They have a good tea selection. Little coffee selection. I thought it was gonna be more foodstuffs like cafe, but they have already premade food, which isn’t fresh.. but it was alright. I got the gluten-free Thai peanut Buddha bowl. It was very dry, I had asked for more of the sauce but because it’s already premade sitting in the refrigerator they didn’t have any.. I guess I was disappointed thinking it was a cafe.. But the drink I had was pretty good. Always give them a try! It was a decent price too. I think my coffee was $10 with tip included and my salad and my bottled water was $14 with tip. Let me know what y’all think! Xoxo Brittney

I'm in love with this place! Unfortunately I was just passing through Cheyenne, but I'm so glad I stopped by The Hawthorn Tree. Definitely my kind of multipurpose store/café! I had the Bancha green tea which was lovely, even after one water refill, and the pesto and chicken sandwich. Except for the fact that it comes in a plastic container even though you eat in (which I understand, I think sandwiches and salads are being made somewhere else?), it was delicious and I enjoyed the clementines and baby carrots. Other than the sitting area at the front (which is well served with power outlets, even at the seats by the windows), the store and bulk section is amazing. Lots of great spices, herbs and teas. New books to purchase too, ceramics, jewelry, soaps and other hygiene items. Go there, you won't be disappointed!
