THE APPLE GRANDE IS BACK!!!! LOL 🍎😁
I worked at the Carey Ave. location when in high school. (many many moons ago) We attended trainings and held staff meetings often! We had a manager, Andrea Zakis, I'll never forget her, she was great at her job. Some staff disliked her, which meant that she was doing her job.
I only worked part time and overtime when available. I did this because I was young and needed the money but not only that, working there was fun!!!!
I got my best friend a job there and the shenanigans sky rocketed!!! 😆 Our cooks were amazing and the rest of the crew was fun too! It was a great time in life!
But here's the meat and potatoes! Our trainings were effective! The staff washed hands before food prep, after cleaning, after breaks, after taking out the trash, before and after helping detail staff with details! One 1 or 2 of the crew would have to be reminded on occasion but we knew who to keep an eye on. 👀
My grandma worked for a grant funded service that's known as Cent$ible Nutrition, today. It went by a different name previously. I learned about cleanliness, safe food preparation and how to cook! She taught cooking classes to families in their homes and taught a class to kids in an after school program. I knew how to work in the food service industry, I was prepared for it at a very young age, that's where I was going with this information. I sure do miss those days!
Fast forward to today, very little of these things apply today! What I've seen at several TJ locations, is messy eating areas, unfriendly staff, code violations, wrong food orders, careless preparing, understaffing, and I could go on but I like TJ's and I would just like to see overall improvement.
Some of this is NOT the corporations fault, being short staffed is a huge problem, folks don't want to work nowadays. COVID made people lazy. The folks that DO get hired may not be the best person(s) for the job, in many ways, but I'll spare the details on that. It's just tougher today to get good help or just help in general. And times changed. It's will never be the same.
I recommend the Carey Ave location! I go there often because it's right by my place of employment with the Wyoming State Government. They're clean, continuously keeping it clean, the service is great, their manager IS managing and that is most excellent! Friendly staff goes a long way and I wish the South Greeley folks would get it together.
But for now, I will continue to keep supporting the business. The food is good and it's enjoyable. Taco John's is Iconic! Legendary! And the only place to get it is here!! It all started here! I LOVE THAT about this restaurant! I still love it to this day. Now, Taco John's, please please please bring back the ORIGINAL Chicken Sierra AND the Cream Cheese Flauta. Okay, and the Cherry 🍒 Flautas too!!! 😆 Please and...
Read moreI want to thank Millie at the Carey location for being extremely considerate and making for an awesome experience during my last TJ's visit. I had had a good but not great experience at the Yellowstone location, where some items had been forgotten. In short, Millie was exceptional at addressing the issue with me at this location, and I would like to note that Monica was also wonderful during this process as well. Overall, TJ's experience went from good to totally over the bar in this last week. Thanks to all involved!
P.S. My sister and her husband whenever in WYO make it a point to get TJ because they miss it in...
Read moreJamie is awesome but when this Shelby guy takes over it is absolute trash. Instead of grilling it how the company has been for years he decides to not grill it properly on the grill and it always looks like wet flesh. Thanks Shelby. He is a real big guy hanging up the phone when I told him about it. You figure with a prissy name like Shelby he would at least be good at cleaning but he doesn't want to clean the grill so he puts everything in aluminum foil costing the company more money and the customers their long appreciated crunchy burritos!!...
