Good food, just took long and there wasn't a lot of people there. I ordered the chicken dinner plate and mashed potatoes were cold and gravy was very salty. Waitress seemed like she was new, she was nice and apologetic about the food taking long but after bringing our food she right away brought our ticket and of course said no rush BUT I was thinking of ordering pie and after that just decided not to. Overall okay.
**UPDATE As I understand the need for people to bring a ticket out as soon as your food is out I have to reply to that. It's a lot more common to visit a restaurant that asks "Is there anything else I can get for you?" or "will you be having dessert?" than one that just brings it to you with your meal. As you stated in your reply "to not make anybody wait" It's obvious no one will pay it at that moment, I am going to enjoy my food and then pay. People eat and have maybe 15 min with their food, that's enough time to check on people to make sure they don't need anything else. I am telling you as a customer that was a server for many years. Once you deliver the meal, more refills are always needed since you are actually eating at this point and that is where the customer service should be, not bringing my ticket to pay before I even eat. Once you bring a ticket out the servers are more likely to just ignore the tables as our server did because they're "done" per say. I know there are lunch rushes people got to get back to work and I understand doing that if the place is so busy, but that was not the case during our visit, there was maybe 1 or 2 other tables and I tell you after we got our food and check it was the last time we saw our server, we needed more refills but too bad, we finished and left as many other people have I'm sure, left unsatisfied but rather timely since we were so lucky to have gotten our ticket early. We will not be going back as I'm sure many people haven't because where you fought me on the ticket problem you didn't realize that food was a problem as well as the actual customer service of it all. I have seen many other reviews complaining about food. Listen to your customers and maybe see where your priorities lie. Good food and good service = happy customers that want to come back. It's not that hard and having to wait for a ticket but the food and visit was great will more likely still get you someone that will come back because that detail is not the worst thing if you already had a great visit. Having your ticket but the food and service was terrible does not make things better except to just leave ASAP and...

My father and I went here (my first time). Now generally we are pretty patient people. When we arrived we had to be on a wait list to sit (Understandably so! It was a Sunday around noon-ish). As soon as we were seated, we got our drinks but needed a little bit of extra time to order. We placed our orders and waited, and waited, during which we saw MANY tables around us who had been seated afterwards, yet served before us. We had to ask about our food twice. At one point my father and I both thought it was because we were dressed not as conservative, if you will, as most of the other parties. I have tattoos and my appearance is very alternative. He was wearing an old band tee (it was a Christian band, too); however, it seemed that we were being treated like problematic adolescents and as if we had done something wrong because we didn't conform.
There was also a table of people speaking VERY loudly about our dress and appearance, and "how dare we on a Sunday". My father and I were just quietly having a conversation and we were not loud, unruly, or problematic. Waitress seemed a bit spacey as well, but it was noon-ish on a Sunday so we were understanding.
The only redeeming factors was that the food was well made, and the elder gentleman who seemed to be the host/pie-guy. (I wish I...
Read moreI've been a fan of Village Inn in the past. It's fairly dependable for a meal. It's not amazing, but it's not offensive either. Usually, everyone can find something to eat. It will be a long while before we try to go again.
We arrived before 9 on a Friday morning. One person in our party has mobility issues and prefers to sit at a table instead of a booth. We also had a toddler along who still needs to use a high chair. The person seating us seemed very inconvenienced by both requests. We were sat and given menus and then left to wait. And wait. And wait. The place was busy-ish, but not packed. One table was being bussed near our table. The employee bussing the table stopped to talk to the couple behind on at least three occasions. The waitress came by that same table twice.
I completely understand that we didn't know who was to be our server. We don't know whether other employees we saw near the kitchen were wait staff or worked in the kitchen. Many circumstances could have led to legitimate reasons why no one came by the table. As it stands, no one came with water, to take an order, or even to say hi for at least 15-20 minutes. With trying to juggle the happiness factor of a two-year-old, we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast without having spoken to anyone except for the host and likely won't be returning...
