We went here for dinner before going to the Cadillac Theater for a show. The restaurant is huge. While we were there it had a table of 30 volleyball players. They had their drinks and food out so smoothly. So definitely great for big groups. I started out with a City Sunset cocktail. It was delicious! Then I ordered their guacamole and pico de gallo and chips. It was a little pricey for what it was but it was good. For my entree I got this skirt steak and it came with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was also tasty. I thought the portion size for the mashed potatoes was pretty small. My hubby got the short ribs. It was also tasty and the meat was juicy. All and all it was a nice dinner. They have a lot of draft beer and a full bar. They also have outdoor seating. There is something I didn't like. When you ordered a pop you got a can. So every time you wanted a refill they would charge you for a new can. For me I prefer fountain pop especially at a bar. They don't have Heinz ketchup and I feel the A1 sauce was filled with a generic A1 sauce. Under the bar they have a bunch of outlets to charge your phone and a hook for your purse. It was clean and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. They also have a lot of options on their menu. Lots of good looking salads.

I am part of a Real Estate Investment Group that meets in the building with the bowling alley at the top floor. The first time that I stepped foot into this space it was mesmerizing! The new environment is definitely my cup of tea. This establishment was built in the early 1900s and has been refurbished and reconditioned to match its original eloquent yet unrefined manufacturing era decor. The original rolling winch that was used in the manufacturing facility along with all of the structural steel and brick has been cleaned and restored to its original state. I love my investment Group and this facility makes the experience all the more exciting! I haven't gotten a chance to eat at any of the restaurants on site but the service and cleanliness of the facilities is superb. If you hadn't got a chance to go check out City social then I definitely recommend getting by like ASAP. This is a must-see and is definitely a very welcome addition to the Baton Rouge food and social scene. This is basically a small little community in itself and fosters community relationships and the like with it's welcoming environment and atmosphere. It is like an explosion of artistic insight with architectural brilliance that come together so eloquently.

There was an undisclosed large group charge even though we just sat at the bar and ordered 2-4 drinks each. A few of us ordered an app. Nowhere on the website does it say anything about a large group charge. Also, we were not at a table nor did we order food entrees in large quantity. We were just bar patrons. If we weren't together and ordered the same amount of drinks (two rounds of happy hour drinks and 8 shots total of fireball NOTHING FANCY just rose and beer), we wouldn't be charged the large group service fee, right? We weren't getting good service either. Asked for second glass of rose and waited 20+ minutes then had to order again as the order was ignored. Someone in our party got two rose glasses but was charged for three. Good thing she looked and the bartender fixed the "mistake". Bartender was also really inhospitable. LARGE GROUP FEE CHARGED PER CHECK! Top it off, they gave us a broken ink pen that stained people's hands!!!!! Talk about trash service. Their large group charge was 22%!

Went to grab dinner before seeing a show tonight, the tables were full and we were asked to sit at the bar instead which is fine, but it literally took 20+ minutes for a bartender to even ask us for a drink order. Our friends came and joined us and a different bartender came up and immediately served them while we were still waiting and when our friends were like “well our friends were waiting much longer than us” she copped an attitude and was like “Well that isn’t my section.” But then begrudgingly took our order.

I try to be understanding as a service employee myself, but if one person is in the weeds or struggling, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to help them out by taking orders or at least drink orders to help them out if you’re not busy.

I honestly was more understanding of our original bartender being really swamped with stuff to do and being very apologetic, but at the business I work at, there’s never an excuse to leave customers waiting if you’re available. Sections are sections but money is money, and if you were able to take our order the entire time, don’t make us feel unwelcome because we are literally ONE seat removed from your section. That’s just wild to me.

I ended up giving the entire experience 3 stars because thank god for them, the food was actually quite good (or maybe after waiting 40 minutes for everything it made us appreciative loool) but I felt bad for our original bartender because he seemed like he was getting zero support there and his coworker was not open or willing to help.

I didn’t get her name, but I did not like her bedside manner in the least. She should work on it lol. Like literally, if you can’t take our order just let our server know to check on us? It’s not hard. This is basic server/bartender 101. Especially when I know our order was EASY.

Anyway, food was actually good. Service was BAAAAD. If you go during a slower time of day you might have a great experience so I can’t say not to try it out if you’re seeing a...

City Social is an awesome find in a perfect location! We had theater tickets at the Cadillac Palace and wanted to grab a bite before the show. Made a reservation on Resy & was delighted that this place was around the corner. The GM greeted us at the door and couldn't have been friendlier. The place is rather large but the wood/tile decor and small high top tables give it a kind of cozy urban kitchen vibe. A long bar extended down one full side of the restaurant and had large TVs above. They were very busy with happy hour business, Hawks fans catching the game, and families with little girls in Elsa dresses going to see Frozen. Our waiter was prompt & offered great suggestions from the craft cocktail and dinner menus. I had a drink called a Potion 101 which was absolutely delicious. Yeah, I had more than one. 😉 Another person in my party had a gin drink that she loved. The American fare menu is expansive so you'd be hard pressed to find something that you didn't like. We decided on sharing small plates, so two of us had yummy french onion soup and wedge salads. We also shared a spinach artichoke flatbread pizza, amazing firecracker shrimp, fried pickles and boneless buffalo wings. Definitely elevated pub fare, so I'm excited to go back & check out their other entrees. Prices were on par with downtown. I loved that the service was friendly and prompt but didn't make us feel rushed. Plus they got 5 stars in my book for consistently removing empty plates & drink glasses - one of my pet peeves when it's not done. Overall a great place to go before a show, after work or after a day on Michigan Avenue. We will...

We decided to try this spot before going to the theater down the street. We had done some research and found that it had a good rating. While doing research on their website, we saw they are not open on Saturday and Sunday. We tried calling multiple times throughout the week to get clarification because Google allowed us to book a reservation for that Saturday, and no one answered. Eventually, someone did answer and said they were open the day we were coming. We arrived on time and were seated promptly outside on the patio. We ordered our drinks, but it took a while for us to get our drinks, so when the serve came back, we quickly put our food orders in because we needed to get to the theater by a certain time. The food came out pretty quickly compared to the drinks and was very good. The price point for the food is normal, and the portion size is good and tasted fresh. We got any leftovers to go and paid the bill. Now, one thing to keep in mind is that they are not able to split the bill by meals (say you both only want to pay for your food and apps) but only in half unless you tell them you are paying for your meals separately. The server did apologize for any inconvenience we had and was very polite and informative. Besides the wait time and small issues, it was an...
