Spent too much here to be treated as a commoner. Service is great when no one is around…if they even have a measly 5 guests…expect a wait. They simply don’t have the staff to accommodate small groups let alone CROWDS. I keep things and orders simple for them and still wait. I literally order the same everyday. EVERYDAY. The male bartender told me the cheapest to buy and I stuck to it because it seemed easier for them since they didn’t carry any of my original go to’s. I was sick of asking to no avail. No biggie..I only go while waiting for my coworker. I still preferred this place because of how quiet and dead it usually is. Plus it’s smaller business which I’ll happily support over others.

After today—no more of MY money will be spent there. I went in to sit and was on the phone like normal, bartender came over and idk what she said I just smiled and nodded, turns out she rang a drink up while I was still waiting. Weird because I left the drink unattended and went to the bathroom as I was in the process of doing. so if that were my drink and I KNEW that,id leave it with a worker(her,as I’ve done previously) or wait to order til after. Yea she assumed since I’m there often, which I do appreciate, but I went to take a call near the “lounge” so I could hear and some short lady chased me to the door ..practically.(?) . Very, very bizarre.

I told my friend to just meet me outside today and not to bother coming in and I will no longer bring business,or give business. I’ve sent 7 people here thus far(3 months),I regret it now. Every show I go to across the street—I bring people there. Coworkers—there. Family for a quick drink down the st from me-here. No longer. Everyone has off days but it was such an unnecessary reaction. Mainly from the girl at the door who treated me like a pauper and the girl bartender/glasses yelling and throwing my can in the garbage with all her might. Wth. …After the bartender “confronted “ me I said no you know I didn’t order ..I nodded. I am waiting, you assumed. she said “well you took a drink?!” …ummm you handed me a drink. Wth I get sent or given by staff free drinks more than I pay anywhere.

Food: HORRID. Go here for simple drinks only. Food is crazy overpriced and disgusting. I’ve tried most appetizers, salad and fish n chips. Barf. Don’t waste time there. Cheese curds are huge serving and most doable here. Definitely an appetizer for a group though.

Eh,just go to a gastropub in the area. So many others. They’ll treat you like the cash you are. Go to Monks just feet away even…IMPECCABLE service and workers seem to love it. They don’t moan constantly to patrons etc. about the...

Decided to finally try this place out after walking by it every day. We called the restaurant around 4pm to make a reservation, the hostess let us know it was booked. She said we could come and wait for a table and asked what time we would arrive, letting her know 7:30 was the time we would like to show up she said that would be fine and could come then. All seemed well until we arrived.

Having a relaxing night, and seeing the place closed at 10 we slowly made our way there, arriving around 7:40 (7:42 to be exact thanks to the hostess). Once we arrived the place was almost empty. We asked the hostess, who looked confused, for a table for 4. She informed me the kitchen closed at 8, and said nothing other than that. I said I called and spoke to her that we would be arriving at 7:30 and she, with a lovely tone, informed me it was 7:42. Nothing at the front said the kitchen close time nor did she tell me this when I called before. She was completely ok letting us leave until someone in our party said we could order quickly as it was still not closed.

The fact that the front of house staff was ok with being rude and unhelpful and allowing us to just leave was beyond disrespectful and the opposite of customer care. The manager was happy to sit us down and other tables were being sat and ordering. All would have been well if the server didn’t share the same discontent or us being there and had that with their other tables too.

There are so many better places to eat in the city, skip this place if your close by, they seem to want to close shop hours before the official closing time and not disclose their intended closing time (website says they can close early, just call and find out if that’s the case, yea right). This is just a bar and...

I literally just sat back down from our lunch here. I have been here 5 times and have very mixed feelings about this place.

Today, we had a party of 10. Should probably ask for a pitcher of water and extra lemons right off the bat because as time goes on, your party will fade into the background. At the beginning of the meal, I'd asked the waiter if 2 of us could be on one check. He said yes, however, the maximum number of split checks is 3 PER TABLE. Why is there a max??? I understand it is the norm for parties of 6+ to have auto gratuity. But when you put two people on one receipt, shouldn't I have the option to pay your 20% auto grat? I don't like to be strong armed into paying for your mediocre service. Especially when you can't get my order right: bringing regular plain ole fries when I'd requested taters or sweet potato fries. They do bring the correct side without taking your entrée into the back, otherwise I'd fear it comes with an extra side of spit (free of charge)... but Buyer beware!

On the positive side, they do have a great pulled pork dish called the Southern Mess (very heavy meal). 1 star. I typically order the Nachos with pulled pork (in place of the pulled chicken)... but you may also opt for brisket and there is no upcharge. But should you ask for extra sour cream, pico, or guacamole, there is a $1 upcharge per extra item. They also accept reservations via OpenTable- 2nd star- which is really convenient since this place does get pretty packed. Why? I have no idea, it's certainly not because they provide top notch customer service. Probably more of a convenient location factor and can accommodate...

This is a horrible “restaurant.” We were guided, with a reservation (that we had confirmed three times as the appointment neared, thanks to their overly intrusive digital agent), to a tiny banquette table underneath a constant chilling blast of cold air, rather than any of the admittedly few booths, even the one also with a cold-air vent on the wall above it. The waitress, Mary, operated entirely on autopilot, uttering only scripted platitudes (and she was utterly incapable of opening a wine bottle, too, and naturally the wine was six-buck chuck up-priced six times). But the abomination was the food, greasy and unpalatable. The cheese curds came in a dish full of grease (see photo — and that’s grease on the napkin from the last six curds). And my wife’s “prime rib” was fried skirt steak, chewy and greasy, tasteless and fatty, rather than tender and pink. The side, mac and cheese, had no flavor whatsoever. Complaints eventually summoned a higher-up who told us the ”manager” was not present, on a Friday evening, but a card could allow us to communicate, after the fact (and the payment) our humiliation and dismay. Succinctly, this pit sucks, and our single star is a star too many.

Service was very slow. It took 15 minutes to get a drink. Secondly, the chicken was bland on the California club. Lastly, their Nashville hot chicken sandwich is not like any other Nashville hot sauce I’ve had. It’s usually has a hint of sweetness due to brown sugar. There was nothing sweet about it all. It was just a thick hot sauce paste. I told the server I didn’t want it. And he proceeded to argue with me for several minutes instead of just saying I’m sorry you didn’t like it. He did eventually ask me did I want something else but not without reminding me that he has NEVER in his life had a Nashville hot that had any sort of sweetness. “Just smoky and hot!” His words, not mine. I opted not to order anything else. I would only return for a drink maybe. Even with not ordering a full menu it was still an overpriced dinner of $61.

Typical American fair restaurant in the heart of the Loop. I will admit that my expectations are always pretty low going into these sorts of restaurants. I was happy to see a couple of options on the menu for vegetarians. There was a salad and there were tofu tacos. So not much to choose from. The tacos were pretty tasty and filling and the pico and guac that came with were flavorful. I had to get a side to substitute for the rice and beans because those were not vegan. Unfortunately most of the sides were not either, but I was able to get some asparagus just sautéed in olive oil. I will say that my friends all got variations on brisket or pulled pork and all enjoyed their meals. Portions are also very large so probably good for a group that likes to share. Servers were friendly and food came quickly, and the vibe is lively.
