Awful experience! Stopped by for drink and we didn’t care for wine. We politely said, not our fave Happy to pay for it, but would like what we enjoy. He was so offended and mad. Throwing his arms up and dumping it out. He’s like fine. You don’t have to pay for it. He was so angry and making a scene. Someone else came over and we said, So sorry we didn’t like the glass of wine and we still left money for it. But the server was still carrying on and so offended we didn’t like it. He was challenging us and angry! What does he care. We were still paying, give us what we want. Have been to several high end establishments in the city. We would never get this kind of reaction. Maybe that’s the problem, not so high end. Very awful and strange behavior getting scolded by a bartender!!! Once again, even after his awful behavior, we left money. Went to another place and of course great service. It was honestly one of the most strange and bad...
Read moreNot a wine bar. Tried to order a bottle of Champagne, bartender looked annoyed and asked incredulously, “you want a bottle?!” He then disappeared frantically looking for the bottle before telling me they didn’t have it. There were only two other champagnes on the wine list, one was a magnum, the other a rosé. I chose a white wine at half the price of the champagne I wanted. Bartender took a while to find that one too. He served me my first glass and then a second employee shows up behind the bar with the champagne I originally ordered to show the bartender that they did in fact have it. Bartender shooed him away because he didn’t want me to see it. The white wine I ordered was great and at that point I was so annoyed I was happy to spend less at such a laughable establishment. The food was good not great. Atmosphere is lovely and decor is impeccable, but I was sent here by a wine content creator, which is a good reminder that anyone can...
Read moreHow lucky are we to now have a natural wine bar so close to us! The transformation of what used to be Cafe Bonhomme to what is now a quirky, intimate and cozy space gives you so much to look forward to and enjoy.
Our bartender, Nick, had no qualms serving us the crazy, funky, weird wines we’ve been searching for. Within 5 minutes of sitting, I had a glass of a crazy, stinky red, and a little vermouth concoction. Both were earthy and smooth. My friends got glasses of interesting white and orange wines that suited their palates.
We also paired these great selections with equally awesome food. The vegetable flat bread, cheese board, and chicken liver pate were all perfect accompaniments to our drinks.
We are definitely going to make this our local joint. You would be missing out if you don’t stop by after a long day at work, or better yet, for absolutely no other reason but to enjoy interesting and delicious wines....
