McDonald's — Restaurant in Chicago

I ordered a medium ice caramel macchiato as I always do, at 8:49a.m.. I was handed the correct size. When I returned and ordered another medium ice caramel macchiato at 10:18a.m., the same morning, Saturday April 22nd, 2023. I was handed a small ice caramel macchiato. I explained to the worker I was handed the wrong size cup for what I paid, she kept telling me I was wrong and that the small cup is a medium cup. After attempting to explain again she called her manager and the manager said it was a small cup but when the worker told her no, that the cup she handed me is considered a medium cup, the manager decided I was wrong and that in fact I was handed a medium ice caramel macchiato. I asked them to show me what a small ice caramel macchiato cup looks like and they said there was not one. That is when a third worker intervened and I again explained that all Mc. Donald’s and in the ones in Wisconsin, Indiana and Florida always hand me a medium ice caramel macchiato cup because it is considered coffee not a McCafe shake nor an orange juice. My friend and I came in at 11:10p, door was unlocked, hours online say 24/7, lights are on and several people are behind the counter. We’re both ordering through the kiosks, separate orders, we were in there probably 4 minutes and I got my order in and she’s still working on hers when someone comes up and tells us we need to leave and she can’t complete her order because they forgot to lock the door. Totally fine with that but I already had placed my order so I ask if I can just have it canceled and refunded, like I REPEATEDLY asked this and kept getting brushed off, they made my order even though this went down right after I had placed it and there was time to cancel it if they had just listened to me. I ended up getting my food and my friend wasn’t allowed to place an order. We would have gladly just gone somewhere else but the entire interaction was so rude and weird and we were trying to get dinner together so it put us in a weird situation after. Score option should include neg. numbers. I've never had this bad of an experience at any fast food place. Car ahead of me came back cuz they were missing items. So I checked my bag and thought everything was fine. But two cheeseburgers that i thought were under the other food was not in the bag. The soda was wrong. I don't even know what soda this is.. I had to sit there while the girl and the other customer argued over her order.... Thru the drive thru window... Awkward. I had to go back out to get food from another place that was closer to my house since they took my money and didn't give me the complete order. Ridiculous. The other car drove in right ahead of me and it took over 30 mins to get thru the line just to come back and stand at the window arguing over food that wasn't put in her bag. Don't go here!
