Brand new to the Chicago Loop (200 W Randolph) is a refreshing take on the (somewhat) overdone Mediterranean Grill concept. You do not need to be in New Orleans to meet the newest "Emeril" on the restaurant scene, as he is the owner of this wonderful 'Pita Pita' location right downtown. He is a "front of house" kind of guy serving the finest in homemade (fresh food fast) Mediterranean cuisine. In that he is brand new to the neighborhood, I went in and ordered a good amount of dinner and introduce myself as a resident from across the street. Not only did I get the BEST food of its kind in the neighborhood (and we have plenty of similar choices), I met one of nicest, most conscientious of owners. Of all their locations, this is the ONLY 'Pita Pita' in a bustling downtown area. The 'sit-down' atmosphere is beautifully done and inviting, and the lunch crowd seemed quite happy on this (my 2nd) visit. In the evening they serve a more "to order" menu which was popular with the Theater crowd who were there on my FIRST visit. An error on my bill noted that I was NOT charged for the best falafel I've had in recent memory. I insisted the bill be redone, or that Emeril start a second bill, in order to appease me. He insisted that the error was HIS and he gifted me the falafel as a "welcome to our new restaurant" offering. When I tell you that the food is GREAT, I really mean it! The BEST part of the visit, however, is the warm "we treat you like family" greeting that you get from Emeril. If he is there, please make sure to say hello to him! Welcome to the neighborhood 'Pita Pita'...and enjoy your early (and surely...

The food itself was tasty, but overall the experience was very disappointing.
First, I asked to use the restroom to wash my hands before eating, and they told me there is no restroom available for customers. This is unacceptable for a restaurant where people are expected to sit down and eat.
Second, I ordered falafel and had to wait because they were going to fry them fresh, which I understood. However, after waiting quite a while, I was told that my order had been given to another customer and that I had to wait all over again. That is very poor service.
Third, when serving the dish, I noticed they put a very minimal amount of hummus and spread it all around the bowl to make it look like more, when in reality there was barely any. Considering this restaurant is not particularly cheap, this practice feels like they want to charge high prices while giving very little in return. Honestly, it comes across as quite stingy.
In summary: • Food: good. • Service: terrible. • Portions and presentation: misleading. • No restroom for customers: unacceptable.
With so many restaurant options in the area, one would expect better treatment and more transparency. Personally, I would not return or...

We recently stopped in at Pita Pita for a light bite & walked away disappointed with both the food & the overall experience.
We used the self-ordering kiosk, which did clearly state which items came with an extra charge. We paid for the extras we wanted — including pickles & garlic sauce — They forgot the pickles entirely, & the garlic sauce was slapped right on top of the falafel, making it soggy instead of crisp. The hummus was placed at the very bottom of the bowl—then hot rice was piled on top, turning it into a warm, mushy mess instead of the cool, creamy texture we expected.
The rice itself was under-seasoned & overly wet, lacking flavor & finesse. And the fries came in a giant bag with a disappointingly small portion inside—more paper than potatoes for $4.00.
When we politely asked for the missing pickles & some extra garlic sauce, the staff’s response was sarcastic & dismissive, saying, “Anything else you need, guys?” in a tone that felt anything but hospitable.
If you’re looking for a Mediterranean spot that gets it right, stick to Naf Naf Grill. Better Flavor, Better Toppings, Better Service, & definitely more respect...
