Chicago restaurants in the Gold Coast area are generally expensive. Moderately priced venues serving quality food are not that plentiful in this area. I personally know the proprietor of Serena's who is a dedicated, personable individual that embraces attention to detail in his product using the freshest of ingredients. Taken together, this translates to yieding consistant, high-quality preparation and perveying of tasty food reflected in a diverse menu. Read moreHands down one of the best hidden gems in Chicago! The food at Serena’s is unreal — everything was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. I tried the dipped Italian beef, the golf coast burger, the Chicago dog, onion rings, and a Greek salad, and I’d recommend every single thing. You can tell they take pride in quality and service. (My all time favorite is the dipper Italian beef!!!)
The staff was friendly, the kitchen was clean, and the portions were generous (I definitely left full and happy). Plus, the vibe inside is super casual but modern — perfect for a quick bite or casual meal...
