Smoothie RX — Restaurant in Chicago

We were excited to try this new-ish place in our neighborhood. Went there for brunch on a Sunday. Got some coffee drinks, potatoes, and breakfast sandwiches. I’m sorry to have to say this was one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. My drink wasn’t made properly (almost totally different from the description on the menu), and the sandwiches were so bad I literally spit out my first bite of my turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich and threw it away. The menu showed turkey sausage patty in the sandwich but mine had a few sliced up pieces of breakfast sausage links, the english muffin was very greasy, and the egg and spinach were covered in grease. My partner ordered the turkey croissant sandwich and the turkey was dried out/crunchy in some parts and parts of the croissant were burnt. The potatoes were very bland and some of them tasted sour.

I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was out of soap (it was before noon by the way), the hand dryer was broken (there was literally a part of it hanging out the bottom and the part was very dirty/old looking, there were splatters in the toilet, and there were food bits all in the sink as if someone had eaten then rinsed out their mouth in the sink.

I’m so annoyed that I spend almost $50 for myself and my partner and we basically had to throw everything out.

If I could’ve asked for a full refund of my entire order...

My friends and I came here on Sunday and had a horrible and traumatic experience. We spent over $100 on smoothies, 3/4 we added THC to. There are 4 levels of THC, I added the lowest (described as “a little buzz”) and they added an extra 5mg. Both of these levels were advertised as having very mild effects. A little over an hour later, the smoothie started to kick in as a very intense high for everyone, even though we hadn’t finished the drinks. Suddenly we all entered a terrifying trip, experiencing extreme anxiety, panic, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, hallucinations, severe headaches, and it left us immobile, almost like sleep paralysis. All of us have previously ingested THC from flower, edibles, tinctures, oils, etc. None of us have ever experienced a high like this before. Along with advertising this experience as “a little buzz”, Smoothie RX did not ID anyone purchasing products with THC. We have found a few reviews with similar stories, and Smoothie RX has responded saying they will look into this. Clearly they haven’t. I'm not sure where these reviews that are more than two weeks old are coming from as this place just opened. That said, I've ordered the same exact acai bowl at least five or six times. The acai bowl that they have on their menu plus three add-ons and one omission. The same thing every time. And each time I get something else. They forget the blueberries or the agave drizzle. So I put in the notes to please make as listed in your menu and include all the ingredients. I then waited 25 minutes. The manager, I think that's who he is, was very busy talking to staff when there were at least three other people also waiting on their orders. Today's missing ingredient: almond butter. And, it takes them so long to get the toppings all together than the acai is almost totally melted when they had it over. I know they're new but they really need to get their...
