The food was acceptable, nothing terribly good or bad about it. I do wish there were more options on the menu however. We checked out of the hotel and decided to grab lunch before heading out. We had a cat with us and were told by the staff that we can sit at the high tops which will allow us to have lunch and have the cat in the open but still on a leash. We did as requested and 5 minutes later this gentleman comes up telling us completely opposite information stating cat can't be out period and has to stay in the kennel. I told him that we understand but that's why we had asked beforehand and the staff told us it was okay. Apparently this person was the manager, and must have repeated the fact that he's a manager at least five times. I told him that I understand he's the manager, in. All we are saying is that clearly there was a miscommunication because the staff said one thing and then he said another. His reply yet again was that he's the manager with unnecessary attitude accompanied by his consistent condescending tone. Then he stands by the table watching us put the cat in the kennel and once the cat is in, he goes well. You guys can sit where the couches are and the waiti staff can just serve you there. He literally watched us put the cat in the kennel for 2 minutes and immediately afterwards said oh you can take the cat out over here. Something he could have easily told us from the start there by avoiding the entire needless confrontation. I didn't even want to stay there and have lunch after that. But my gf on the verge of being hangry so decided to stay so she can have lunch. I don't have anything against Atwood restaurant, but unfortunately I will not be visiting it again because no one deserves to be spoken to in a condescending rude tone when nothing actually happened, that would provoke it. The bartender was very chill and accommodating so kudos to him. What Mr. Manager did a very good job at alienating potential customers as there were people on other tables listening to this entire conversation that he was intent on prolonging. Not a good look for...
Read moreI made a reservation for 10 people with the manager (Roberto Gomez), I explained to him that it was for Tues, June 13th and he said it would be fine. But because he seemed a bit preoccupied, I repeated my reservation to him again and asked if it was confirmed. He stated yes, and began to repeat my reservation information, total count of people and the name for the reservation. But when my group arrived to the restaurant the next day they were told there was no reservation. I then spoke to the manger that was there, (Chase) who insisted that Reberto sent an email to staff stating I was only INQUIRY about a reservation, not stating the reservation was confirmed. Then Chase stated that a staff member informed Roberto that they could not accommodate our reservation because they were booked. But I explained to Chase if that was the case why didn't anyone contact me Monday night after I called to make the reservation or Wednesday morning before the reservation time to let me know they could not accommodate my group. That would have given me the courtesy and the ability to make a reservation some where else. But instead they refused to seat my group of employees with not resolution. Chase did not try to make right of the situation that they agreed was their mistake, they agreed that someone should have called me to inform me. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone and it is a shame because I enjoyed myself when I eat there before. But I only need one mistake to ruin it for me to never recommend them to my place of...
Read moreMy friend and I made a reservation on a Tuesday night as I love the building and history behind it and was really excited to go there. We walked in to the bar area as we didn’t see the host stand that is not at the entrance. It’s around the corner and if there was signage pointing us to it we did not see it. There were 2 people sitting at the bar and every table was empty. The bartender did not bother to acknowledge us at all so we walked around until we saw the host stand. Our server sat us at a small 2 person table. There was a larger table and I asked if we could sit there so we could have more room as again, there was literally no one else in the restaurant. Our server got visibly upset and told us that table was for larger parties, which I completely understand but again… no one else was there. So we sat at the small table and ordered our dinner. I ordered the truffle mac and cheese, thinking, how can that not be delicious? Well the truffle was only in the breadcrumbs on top and the mac and cheese had no flavor at all. It was in a very thin, soupy sauce. Really unfortunate as the building itself is absolutely gorgeous and the history behind it is amazing. And just one other single diner came in while we were there to eat. Another server just dropped off our check without even asking if we wanted another drink or dessert or anything… I wanted it to be a better experience but...
