I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sofiz Kitchen and Bar in Chico, CA, and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. Specializing in authentic Pakistani cuisine with a modern twist, Sofiz truly knows how to create an unforgettable culinary adventure.
From the moment we stepped foot into Sofiz, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Sofi and her sister, who run the establishment, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, adding a personal touch that made our visit even more memorable.
The highlight of our dining experience at Sofiz was undoubtedly their emerald chicken. Bursting with flavors and aromatic spices, this dish was an absolute delight for the taste buds. The tender chicken, perfectly marinated and cooked to perfection, was accompanied by a vibrant blend of herbs and spices that truly elevated the dish to another level. It was a harmonious marriage of traditional Pakistani cuisine and a contemporary twist, leaving us craving for more.
Beyond the exceptional food, the ambiance at Sofiz was inviting and cozy. The modern decor, coupled with subtle touches of Pakistani culture, created an atmosphere that was both stylish and comfortable. It was evident that great care had been taken to create a space where guests can relax and enjoy their culinary journey.
The service at Sofiz was impeccable throughout our visit. Sofi and her sister took the time to explain the origins of the dishes and offer recommendations based on our preferences. Their passion for their craft and commitment to ensuring a wonderful dining experience were truly commendable.
I cannot recommend Sofiz Kitchen and Bar enough to those seeking a unique and extraordinary dining experience in Chico, CA. The blend of authentic Pakistani flavors with a modern twist is a testament to the creativity and culinary expertise of Sofi and her team. The emerald chicken, in particular, is a must-try dish that will leave you craving for more. Read moreWe visited on Saturday after the Farmer's Market, I believe we were the first customers of the day as it was just after 11 AM. I came to eat with my boyfriend and his mom to celebrate a special occasion and we were blown away by the charming service and incredible food. We got the chana chaat, samosas, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, paratha, and palak paneer. The owner herself serviced our table and was so friendly, she have us recommendations on what to try and warnings about the tandoori chicken taking a little longer to cook (totally fine, maybe 20 minutes longer than the appetizers we ordered). She chatted with us and told us the story of how she learned to cook and how she started the business. Food came out quick. The Chana chaat is AMAZING, I've never tasted anything like it before, sour and fresh, salty and sweet, we all devoured this delicious snack. The samosas (Sofi said "You're going to ignore my samosas?!" when we ordered so we knew we had to get some) were so fluffy and perfectly spicy, mint sauce was delicious. Paneer, chicken, Naan, and the paratha were so good, we sat around for almost an hour raving over the food. The service exceeded our expectations and the atmosphere inside was beautiful. We will definitely come back to visit the bar area and to introduce family and friends to this wonderful new addition to the food scene in town. So happy for the success of Sofi and happy to have this opportunity to try some delicious Pakistani food!! Thanks Sofi for your awesome service this Saturday....

Sophie’s Kitchen is not just a restaurant—it’s a heartfelt experience. For over a year, my family and I have been driving all the way from Sacramento to Chico just to eat here. It’s our go-to place for special events, celebrations, or when we simply want to treat ourselves to truly amazing food.
Sophie, the owner and chef, is an inspiring woman. She is professional, strong, and incredibly talented. Her creativity and dedication to her craft are evident in every dish she prepares. As a Middle Eastern woman myself, I take pride in supporting her and am always in awe of the quality and soul she pours into her food.
I was shocked and saddened to see a recent review that felt not just unfair, but deeply hateful. I’ve had the same dishes mentioned in that review—Fish Pakora and Chicken Biryani—and they have always been delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The review reads like a targeted attempt to tear down a successful woman, and that’s something I find truly shameful.
I’m also sorry to see that I can’t report that review—it goes beyond criticism and feels like an intentional attack on Sophie’s reputation and success.
Sophie’s Kitchen deserves praise, support, and recognition. Her restaurant is a gift to this community, and I encourage everyone to visit and judge...
