You Think You Know Olive Garden? Think Again. Chino Is Serving Something Different

I was not expecting much. It is Olive Garden, right? You go for the breadsticks, maybe some decent pasta, and call it a day. But this Chino location? It pulled a total plot twist.

Me and my daughter rolled in for a Thursday lunch around noon and boom, we were seated instantly. Already off to a good start. Then Isaiah showed up. This dude did not just bring water and take orders, he delivered a masterclass in hospitality. My daughter is learning how to order on her own, and he did not rush her, did not talk over her, he hyped her up. That alone deserves a shoutout.

Let’s talk food. What slapped? • Mozzarella Sticks: I am not even going to lie, these were the main event. Crispy like a dream, not a drop of grease, and that cheese pull? Illegal levels of satisfaction. • Fettuccine Alfredo (Kids): Creamy, rich, pasta cooked like it actually mattered. My daughter was vibing with it. • Ravioli and Lasagna Classico: The kind of combo that makes you want to lean back in your chair with a happy sigh. Multiple reviewers hyped up the lasagna, and they were not lying, it is a hit. • Soup, Salad and Breadsticks: Old faithful. It is the Olive Garden signature for a reason, and they nailed it.

Pro tip from other folks online, the Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara is a heavy hitter. I did not try it this time, but best believe it is on my list for the next round.

The vibe?

It is a chain, but it did not feel like one. Staff were super friendly, even ones who were not our servers checked in on us like we were regulars. It is cozy, laid back, and mostly clean, except for some dusty spots that made me squint a little. Not tragic, but management, yall gotta handle that. It is giving “we forgot this shelf existed.”

When should you go?

Hit it before 12 to dodge the rush. This spot stays popular for a reason, and if you are bringing kids or just want to chill, early is the move.

Final word? Go. Just go.

Olive Garden in Chino is not just another chain outpost. It has got heart, it has got flavor, and it has that extra something that makes you want to come back before you have even left the parking lot. If you are in Chino and not hitting this spot up, I do not know what...

Probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had recently The girl that was serving us was trying her best, but the food was horrible it took forever to get anything to the table and when they did it was either ice cold or just not good when they finally brought out the food they told us that they had run out of french fries and asked if we wanted a different side dishes for our kids they offered grapes or broccoli which is not a horrible substitute but when they brought the grapes out there was literally four grapes and a little tiny side cup, My wife's food didn't actually ever come out they brought out my son's pizza first which was ice cold the cheese wasn't even melted and they brought my daughter's fettuccine Alfredo which should be a slam dunk for a place like this and it was horrible and cold then they brought my daughter's chicken strips which she said she actually liked and they were very good but no fries and then the grapes as I said above. I ordered the ravioli once again for a place like this should be a slam dunk they were horrible the sauce was watery the noodles weren't cooked all the way and it looks like they put it under the salamander for heat and let it sit for like an hour it was terrible and the whole time we're still waiting for them to bring out My wife's plate which never actually came, after about 10 minutes we literally got up and just walked out. About the only positive thing I can say about this place is that the staff were friendly and polite but the food was absolutely some of the worst food I've ever had. Even the breadsticks were bad, The iconic Olive garden breadsticks were bad!!!!! How is that...

15AUG2014 This review is strictly based on the performance of the bartender that attended my wife and I on our visit. It does not in any way, shape, or form reflect on the performance of the rest of the staff. When we went we were stopped by the receptionist who told us we would have to wait till the previous 2 groups were serviced, which is reasonable, except they were a party of 9 and a party of 15. Granted there were 4 seater tables behind him in the bar area, dozens of them, empty.......... yet he told us it would be a 45 minute wait. The bartender took it upon himself to invite us over to one of the tables and proceeded to attend to our orders. Before i go further let me say this, the bar had its own clients already being served so the bartender was already busy. This bartender performed the most well mannered, most professional, and extraordianry cutomer service i have ever seen. I dine at some high quality places and even their servers did not compare to this man. Our drinks never reached the bottom of the cup, he was bringing out refills before we could even get the opportunity to ask, he was very knowledgeable on every item on the menu and his recommendations were on point. He had our appetizers and meals served to us within minutes of each other. He went above and beyond the job expectations and for my wife and I it was the greatest customer service experience we have had to date. I tipped him $10 because that was all the cash i had on hand but had i had a $20 i wouldbt have thought twice about tipping it to him because he earned it. kudos to you good sir for your...

*WHISTLE BLOWER; ALERT!!! $9.99?!?! ARE YOU OUTTA YOUR MIND?!?!?! I give this lunch experience at Chino Hills Olive Garden 5 Stars for the following reasons: 3. Price 2. Delicious Unlimited Soup and Salad (also breadsticks) THE NUMBER ONE REASON; I was sat in bar area next to local City Officials telling secrets! We shared a bench seat with 2 tables. I was at one they were at the other. I'm not sure if this lunch was a wink from God or the Devil! I do know that the Devil was doing the cha cha on my neighboring tables tongues!! Some people don't have the sense God gave a goose! Seriously, they were name dropping! They even talked about something being over budget for a million dollars! It took everything out of me NOT to interrupt and SAY; "excuse me, did you say a million dollars or doll hairs?" Just for the record there are 3 possible City Halls, these Bozo’s, could be working at. Back to real purpose of this review: I was like a monkey dancing on a razor blade, when I saw the Soup, Salad and Breadstick Lunch was ONLY $9.99! (I had a $25 gift card, from Xmas, burning a hole in my pocket! Now I get to have 2 lunches out of 1 card!) I skipped the breadsticks (because of my Weight loss Journey) The salad is always delicious The service was efficient and fast! Ambiance is the same at all Olive Gardens; I got nothing bad to say about it! Despite the juicy gossip, I would've still gave 5 Stars! I love Olive Garden! SSDGM, Elaine

This Olive Garden was pretty much in line with what you’d expect from the chain. One thing that stood out was the seating — the chairs at our table had definitely seen better days and didn’t feel very sturdy. Might be time for a refresh. It was fairly busy when we went, but service held up well. Our server was attentive, especially when correcting a missing side of Fettuccine that was supposed to come with my entrée. I also noticed management making rounds, though they didn’t appear to be offering much support to the line staff — just my observation. My family enjoyed their meals, and it was a solid outing overall. I usually stick with pasta, but I tried the Sirloin this time — unfortunately, it tasted a bit like freezer burn and was lacking in flavor. In hindsight, probably best to stick to what Olive Garden is known for. Not a terrible experience, but definitely room for improvement.
