We decided to order a pizza this passed Saturday. I called to place an order for 1 large pepperoni pizza. The girl asked me to hold which I did. As I am on hold and hearing the lady handle customer after customer after customer I became upset. I decided to see if she would answer my call before I could drive do to place an order. I was on hold a total of 18 mins before being disconnected/hung up on. Living close I called again while driving down there. This time I was on hold for 7 mins before I was actually waited on in line in the restaurant. First thing I did was notify her she could hang up the phone and questioned why it takes so long to place an order. The manager who was making the pizza told me it’s Sal’s policy to take all order of people in line before taking phone orders. This doesn’t make very much business sense since people how are in line already probably aren’t going anywhere. A smart business would take 2 or 3 customers in line then a phone order so you don’t alienate you phone customers. So now I was stuck waiting on my pizza after it was ordered at the restaurant for 40 mins. This policy should change as there was multiple customers outside complaining about the same thing. If you on hold and get hung up just take that as a sign and go...
Read moreI remember when the Boardwalk first opened and how it was so refreshing to have pizza that isnt chain pizza, and much closer to what we love. I have since moved out of town, but occasionally run through thr area. My favorite part of the food is that so little has changed, and it is so good. I see they still hire kind, smiling people. Atmosphere inside is light and welcoming and I love being able to order then sit in and eat. The specials are pretty awesome with great prices. Like i said, I moved away, and this is a place I crave sometimes and travel back to. Some of the best garlic parm wings, and they still put ricotta in the calzones (this has become increasingly...
Read moreI ordered a pizza with mushrooms, fully expecting fresh mushrooms like any respectable pizzeria would serve. Instead, I got canned mushrooms — something never mentioned on the menu or when ordering. The mushrooms were soaking wet and really soggy, which made the whole pizza wet and unpleasant to eat. When I brought it up, they offered to replace the pizza but didn’t refund the extra charge for the topping I didn’t want. The staff’s response was defensive, including an unnecessary comment about other toppings, which only made the experience worse. Honestly… who even uses canned mushrooms these days? If I wanted canned, I’d...
