I was recently hospitalized for an issue that I am experiencing with my feet. I was unable to walk into this Panera location. Due to the circumstances, they are typically fine with me picking up my order through the drive-through window.
When I went to the drive-through window to inquire, the associate interrupted me and said, “you have to come inside for that kind of order”. When I explained that I had been experiencing physical issues, and that they typically let me pick up my order through the drive-through window, she interrupted me again and communicated the same. I let her know that I would just come back another day or time, and she responded with “ok”.
All she knew was that this was a Rapid Pick Up order, which would have been pre-paid as well if it weren’t for it only being for a sip subscription beverage. She did not offer a refund, or a way to get one if it applied. She did not ask me any questions about the order, and did not let me talk long enough to let her know that it was just for a drink.
I understand that people get busy, but common courtesy and quality of service should be at front of mind. Especially in situations where a customer may need an accommodation.
I did not feel welcomed or wanted as a customer. This is also a representation of Panera’s inclusivity practices.
I was able to get my membership canceled this morning. I still felt as though it was important to let someone know, as the staff needs to be trained on how to handle extenuating circumstances. They clearly also need to be retrained on quality customer service. Perhaps a Diversity and Inclusion program enhancement is an order as well, to teach associates how to assist those who may be...
Read moreCame by last Friday 7/21 around 8pm for a quick bite to eat (or at least that's what I thought) I usually go to the one in Blacksburg but decided against it this time because I have not been to this one. The line was really long (12 people including myself and my fiancé) with 4 people behind the register and only one open. We finally got to the front and the manager jumps on the register we walked up to and tells us to wait so they can put through an online order (not only very rude but would it really have been that hard to go to one of the other 2 registers that were not being used). But this is where it gets really good, after that my fiancé and I just look at each other then take a step back, no sooner than when we step back this one insanely rude old bag jumps right in front of us and the family of 7 behind us. We say "excuse me we were waiting and there's a line" to which she rudely responds "I'm just getting a cookie." Oh right, because you're a senior citizen you must be more important and can jump in front of everyone. The last straw was when the manager then got off the register and the guy who was originally working the register took Betty White's grandma's order after watching her cut everyone while the manager idolly stood by. We turned around and walked right out the door disgusted (as did the family behind us which was a good move on their part too) the food here can be free and I would never return to this Panera, I'll be sure to warn everyone I know to avoid this Panera as well and it instead just drive the extra 5 minutes to Blacksburg, absolutely...
Read moreI stopped going to the drive thru at this Paneara Bread because my order was either wrong or the rudeness of the staff. I had a girl with the many colored hair handed me a bag and slammed the window. No thank you, thanks for coming to paneara bread. I had to tap the glass and get my drink, I told her that I didn’t appreciate the way I had been treated she said whatever. I hadn’t been to eat in diner in over a year then last month I went with a friend, the dining area was nasty, I had to get a napkin and wipe off a table so we could eat. I never saw one employee walk out in the 45 minutes I was there to clean. But, I did see many standing around talking, it’s evident that there isn’t much leadership at all at this location. The last time I ordered delivery they didn’t bring the correct drink I refused to take it. I called the store the manager he credited back my drinks. Why they didn’t call and say we don’t have what you ordered would you like something different. How simple. The reason three star is they credited my drinks back and the staff when we ate in diner was so nice. I just saw where an employee left a comment about why they were so slow. Her excuse is ppl ordering five sandwich at the drive thru, I can see that but that hasn’t been the case when I was there or when I ate in diner there was only three ppl in front of me and one behind me. So what’s the excuse for your dining room being so nasty. ...
