Shupe's on the Boardwalk — Restaurant in Christiansted

We ate there today. Service was HORRIBLE. If I could give it a ZERO STAR, I would. It wasn't crowded but they catered to the people at the bar and we sat for about 15 minutes before our order was taken. It was only three of us. It took ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES to get 2 cheese burgers, fries and chicken wings. People came in after us were served before us. Was so upset we decided not to eat our food there. We went to our car. The fries were burned and soggy..the burger wasn't cooked thoroughly. I wi not be eating there again on our yearly visit and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. There were only two people servicing the small group. The owner was not user friendly. SANITIZER IS NOT ON THE LIST We watched the owner replace trash bags and came right back behind the bar serving without WASHING HIS HANDS. THEN HE SMOKED A VAPOR PEN AND DIDNT WASH HIS HANDS WENT RIGHT BACK TO SERVING DRINKS. WE WATCHED HIM PUT A LEMON WEDGE IN A DRINK WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. The rag he used to wipe down the tables and bar was nasty and he had it hanging from his waste belt. SCREAMING HEALTH DEPARTMENT VISIT THIS PLACE.

In response to the owners..I apologize for promoting the people you left in charge as the owners...HOWEVER, EVERYTHING ELSE I STATED STANDS AS WRITTEN. THIS WAS MY ENCOUNTER. PERHAPS GOING FORWARD, YOU SHOULD LEAVE PROFESSIONALS IN CHARGE. MY PARTY OF THREE WERE DISAPPOINTED AT OUR SERVICE. CHEERS...

I ate here the last week of Sept.2024.The food and service left much to be desired. They only offer a few items: burgers, wings, fries, and grilled cheese., They need to change the oil in the fryer and learn the correct way to make garlic parm wings. Big chunks of minced garlic made them inedible. Filling out your own orders on a piece of paper and bringing the food in paper bags is a concept they need to rethink. Service is prolonged, and the staff who I think is the owner is rude and seems annoyed, not friendly at all !!!! Do they teach you how to cook basic bar food and to be friendly to your customers in Kansas? I know that is where one of the owners is from. this place could be a gem because of its location, but it's a dud.

As I can not respond to the owner's reply, it is nothing personal. You absolutely have an employee/owner who is from Kansas and is working with another gentleman and woman who were overwhelmed with a group visiting your establishment after waiting for an hour for a burger, wings and two bottles of beer were standing there in front of the customers about how lucky they felt to be so busy and how hard they just worked. It's undeniable that you are not used to that type of business. You have people on vacation willing to spend a lot of money to sit at that location, relax, eat, and have a drink....

Have tried them 4 times now and every time my food has been wrong. First time my burger was leaking grease out of foil onto the bag and missing the lettuce and terrible customer service from the guy with the hat and beard . Second time we went got the chicken sandwich since the burger was so greasy. The thing about shupes is you fill out your menu sheet and turn it into them. Funny how they still forget things when you write down your order correctly. Forget my bacon and cheese on my chicken sandwich and also in that order forgot my fry’s as well and I had to wait an extra 15 minutes so by that time I was done with my food and didn’t want them . Third time I went I did a call in order to maybe try to help them out since they are slow , forgetful , and rude . And I place my order and wait 40 minutes for a chicken sandwich for it to be forgetting the lettuce . Gave it another shot tonight because well as there customer service is bad and there forgetful. When your food is cooked correctly and has the toppings you want it is good. Vs when your food is burnt and dry with no flavor because the flavor has been fried out of it which is what happened tonight . And every worker has been rude terrible attitude EXCEPT TIA SHE WAS NICE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. She needs to...
