Sandwiches and soups are excellent. Had the lemon and buffalo chicken salad. Very nice and clean place. Have been to locations in Oakley and Mason. Highly recommended!
Update 9-8-2023 Visited the location in Oakley today. Although I am still a fan of the chicken salad, there were some issues at this location today. First, it's important to note most employees were helpful and nice. My wife and I ordered salads with a scoop of chicken salad on them. The problem was with the lettuce in the salads, and the ranch sides. There was a lot of brown on certain lettuce pieces, and some others were wilted. Mine wasn't terrible and I just picked them out. The pic shows mine. You can't see my wife's because she took hers back, as it was worse. She initially planned to ask for it to be remade, but she asked if all of the lettuce was like that and was told it was. At that point she just asked for the chicken salad without the lettuce. The person working in the kitchen wasn't happy with that, but the cashier took care of it and gave her a second scoop for no charge. Someone also gave her a card for a free meal for her next visit to that location. The ranch was only about 1/4 full in the containers. They gave each of us 2 containers, but it still wasn't very much. You can see the containers in the pic. The concerning part is these were all obvious visible problems - not a taste problem. The kitchen shouldn't have allowed those salads to go out in the first place. The fact that all of the lettuce they had was like that would have been easy to resolve - just pick out the pieces that were brown and pieces that were wilted before serving them. Also the poor attitude from the person in the kitchen leaves a huge opportunity for improvement. This also raises questions about food handling in the kitchen since these obvious issues made it to the customer. I recognize there are problems sometimes, so I may go back to that location again, but I hope the issues are...
Read moreSome of this is not the fault of the local owner. However, since I didn’t receive my receipt with the 18 digit code required to submit a survey on the website, and since the “contact us” button simply says to call the local shop, I had limited options and here we are. The website is not well constructed. The white on white of the ordering page is confusing. I ordered a sandwich with pasta salad and chips. I clicked the button to “make it a triple” but on the checkout page it appeared I had ordered 2 chips. I didn’t want to delete it and get no chips, so I left it. I had selected my options, but then not able to proceed because, at 12:38pm, I was not permitted to order “pick up”. I was allowed to order curbside, so I did. By now I was getting frustrated – what is the point of this restriction? I arrive at the shop and follow the instructions to call for curbside. Of course, no one answered the phone. When I went inside, the staff was obviously frazzled. I did, as predicted, receive 2 bags of chips. Fine. I was told they didn’t have the dessert I ordered (key lime cheesecake). Nor did they have my 2nd choice. So I was given a cash refund. The food was fine. As far as chicken salad (I got the Fancy Nancy) and pasta salad go, they were good but frankly unremarkable. I’m not sure if the other specialty chicken salads are what make this place special? This was my 1st experience, and the online experience was so irritating, combined with apparent staffing and inventory issues that prevented the local shop from fulfilling my order correctly, left me...
Read more7:25 enter to order, employees already closing everything up, including the mats as customers are coming in. Originally told only out of a couple salads and potato soup. After ordering, told no bacon for BLT sandwiches. Switched to croissants (which were very tasty however only enough salad to barely cover the bread. Thankfully the croissants were good.) request additional chicken salad for side, everyone I chose they were then out of. And after confirming buffalo available for sandwiches, the manager had to go and make it. Confirmed before order if beverages, Diet Coke and Tea were still available and the manager confirmed yes. Cashed out, went to get beverages, employee had already dumped the teas, filled one glass with soda and then she pulled the knobs - no more soda. All interaction with employees was very rude and short answers. Customer service was FAR from their priority!! I understand needing to close in a timely manner but your customers should always be first. Very sad, this was my first experience at the Oakley store - and will be my last!! VERY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If you want great experience and polite, kind and customer oriented service, go to the Beechmont store, hands down...
