9/16/2025 Update
The evening began with a Lavender Lemon Fizz, a refreshing balance of grapefruit soda, lavender syrup, lemon juice, and a subtle saline bite edged with pepper. The fee foam added a delicate finish, an elegant prelude to the courses ahead.
Warm sourdough bread arrived next, accompanied by softened, unsalted butter and a mushroom truffle butter so fragrant it nearly commanded center stage on its own. One must exercise restraint here, lest this opening indulgence eclipse the dishes yet to come.
From the sushi selection, the Herbersteit Roll set a high standard, shrimp tempura encased with king crab salad, cucumber, avocado, and a drizzle of lemon-garlic aรฏoli, topped with the light crunch of tempura. Each bite carried a thoughtful balance of richness and freshness.
The centerpiece of the evening was an 8-ounce Australian Wagyu ribeye fillet from Margaret River. Cooked to a flawless medium, its succulence was elevated further by the Collinsworth topping, a decadent combination of Red King Crab, asparagus, and a duo of bordelaise and bรฉarnaise sauces. This was a steak that exemplified precision and indulgence in equal measure.
Just when it seemed the meal had reached its peak, the kitchen offered a final flourish, a butter pie paired with Dubai chocolate enrobed in a crisp shell, and a maple butter chocolate ice cream that lingered in both sweetness and depth. The closing cappuccino provided the perfect, familiar note of comfort.
What defined the evening, beyond the remarkable cuisine, was the service. Every gesture reflected a commitment to hospitality, warm, attentive, and seamless. Gratitude goes to Korrie for the arrangement, to Charlie for gracious oversight, and to Jordan and Devon for their impeccable table service.
Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment continues to affirm its place among the top tier of fine dining establishments, not only for its cuisine but for the way it makes each guest feel distinctly at home. I love having my own table here too โฅ๏ธ

December 2024 Jeff Rubyโs Steakhouse in Cincinnati is a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of dining. From the moment the bread arrives, a duo of freshly baked sourdough and rye, the tone is set for an evening of culinary excellence.
The Wagyu meatball is nothing short of transcendent. Nestled on a bed of velvety white cheddar grits and accented with a robust tomato gravy, pecorino Romano, and aged balsamic, it offers a complexity of flavors that defies descriptionโboth comforting and exhilarating in its intensity.
The salads are equally compelling. The โFredโ salad combines Roma tomatoes, crisp applewood bacon, and a buttermilk ranch dressing that strikes the perfect balance of tangy and creamy. Meanwhile, the classic Caesar is an ode to tradition, elevated by Parmigiano-Reggiano, briny anchovies, and perfectly crisp Kalah croutons.
Then, the piรจce de rรฉsistance: the Ruby Reserve. This main event is an experience in itself, with table-side preparation adding a touch of theatricality to an already extraordinary dish. The Hot Rock fillet skewers, featuring the coveted Miyazaki A5 Wagyu, are seared to perfection at your table. Paired with house fried rice and a playful yet indulgent Yum Yum sauce, every bite is a revelation.
With portions as generous as the flavors are bold, dessert was regretfully out of reach this time. A heartfelt thanks to Korrie and the exceptional staff for delivering not just a meal, but a memorable occasion. Jeff Rubyโs Steakhouse is a masterclass in indulgence, executed with precision and passion.

ย ย ย Read moreReservation, thurs night 8:30pm booked 2 months ahead. Special night, birthday came from out of town. Was sat in patio. Got the vibe unless your someone you don't get seated in lounge or dining area. It was very hot. They had fans going but it was 82ยฐvery humid. Waited almost 20 mins to be seated, had to stand the entire time. Waitress made me feel rushed. Never been there wanted time to look at wine list. Had to ask for it. Waitress bugged me every 3 mins on what I wanted then asked bottle or glass, I said glass. She rushed me to one page told me to pick. Told us it was a busy night kitchen was running over and hour to get our food so we better have a appetizer. I think she should have apologize then gave us a complimentary appetizer. The patio was dark and hot had trouble seeing the menu. Son was getting stressed by her urgency, so he started trying to hurry me up. I finally got so anxiety I just said I'll get nothing just give me a steak and I'm not enjoying this experience at all. Son calmed down , Waitress didn't respect him as he is in his early 20s and would only direct her info to me. Son was paying for it. Got 2 appetizers, food came after, I've had better steak, overpriced. Not cooked right didn't say anything because we had waited so long. Waitress was condescending and never came back to check on our food or if we wanted anything. Son had to go remind them that it was my birthday and when he made the reservation he included a piece of cake. Waitress brought the cake with candle and a complimentary piece of butter cake, which was way better than the chocolate cake as the chocolate was ice cold. Obviously just taken out of refrigerator. Just wanted the night to be over had our desserts sent to get boxed up by the waitress . Other employees were lowing the sides on the patio and bar closed, it was apparent they were closing for the night. Never asked if I wanted more wine or a cup of coffee nothing. So as we waited I looked down and here comes a huge black cockroach headed right for my foot with open toed sandles on. I yelled at my son and he jumped up and stepped on it. Seriously I threw up a little in my napkin. Horrifying thoughts went through my head. My son who works in the restaurant buisness tried to calm me down and excuse it but I was just floored. Waitress comes back and my son says oh um I just killed a cockroach look here. And there's the dead bug. She steps back and says oh wow. Sorry about that. Here's the bill and hands it to him then asks us to leave the bug there so she can show her manager. Like wtf she thought we were going to clean it up? First impressions are everything and I can tell you I won't ever eat there again and regret celebrating my birthday there. Didn't want to hurt my sons feeling after he dropped $658.00 on this suppose to be amazing experience. I took pictures of the bug. They charged his CC full price, all we got was long waits, pushy waitress, overcooked steak, 2 glasses of wine , crappy cake ended with a cockroach on my feet with nothing more than a oh wow sorry. Don't waste your money here. Many better steak houses for better food, better prices, better service, better temperatures and no bugs! Will be telling everyone...
ย ย ย Read moreI have been to Jeff Rubyโs twice now for two different occasions. The first time was in April and was for my anniversary with my husband. It was just the two of us with a 7pm reservation. The place was PACKED. The service was amazing in that they were personable. My biggest issue with this visit was they were so on top of it that I couldnโt finish eating one part of the meal before I was being served the next part and the table we were at was not that big so we just got cramped and felt like we had to hurry up and rush. When youโre paying that much for a meal, the last thing you want to feel is rushed. That ๐ being ๐ said ๐ - when we went in July with my best friend who was visiting with a reservation for 8:30pm we werenโt rushed AT ALL. in fact the timing of each meal was perfect. We got to eat, have plates removed, then have a good amount of small talk before the next course.
Now for the food- look. This particular location has THE BEST SUSHI. And itโs not too particularly expensive if youโre getting sushi and dipping. Is that what we did? No. The steak was cooked to our preferred cook and was delicious both visits. I got the Wagyu and my husband got a cowboy steak for our visit in April and then I got the Burrow and my friend got the Ribeye in July. I recommendโฆ getting whatever cut you like best. I, personally, loved the ribeye the most as ribeye is my favorite cut BUT the wagyu and burrow were both great flavor experiences I wanted to try to push myself out of my normal go to order. You just canโt go wrong with ordering steak here. Sushi- I recommend the Ruby roll. But really we havenโt had any bad sushi yet. Oysters are a great beginning to the meal if you like oysters. Sides- I didnโt like the asparagus but I think thatโs mainly because I have a preference for it, but in terms of cook it was cooked how most people like It. The Mac and cheese was underwhelming personally because of how nice and delicious everything else was. The soup was so good. Just YUM. If they have lobster bisque, just get it. Seriously. WORTH IT. For next time, Iโll probably just not get sides outside of the soup. They also serve some fresh bread that is to die for. Super delicious with 2 different butter options. Drinks were delicious! I personally stuck to mocktails and each one was a fun experience.
Location - parking isnโt terrible. They offer a valet and also there is parking across the street. The bathrooms are probably the nicest Iโve ever been in. Super clean and offers toiletries and hair products in the womenโs bathroom. (I canโt say for the menโs). The location was beautiful and on theme for art deco.
Accessible easily for those who have wheelchairs. There are some steps, but those are avoidable.
Weโve arrived early to every reservation and were able to be seated almost instantly.
Very romantic and yet also a fun place to...
