Ahh, brings back memories of Hawaii, except they don't have spam musubi :(. This would be the only reason not to give 6 stars. But they have teppanyaki, which makes up for it since Logan street market in Louisville doesn't have it anymore. Prices are reasonable, I think it was about $3 per small plate. We both filled up and didn't have room for milk jar afterwards. Probably first time ever we didn't have room for boba. Don't think you have to worry about price for color of plate like some places as ours were different but in the end all same price, unless something special was going on. The Inari(bean curd pockets) were sweeter than I like and you should get some seaweed or octopus salad to put in it as they are just pockets & rice and there are no plates of masago. Perfect for being able to try a lot without having to order full rolls. All apps come out super hot. The deep fried Oreo's tasted like fair style just with batter being thinner, like funnel cake and Oreo.
Atmosphere is good, place was clean, and wait staff very friendly and helpful. Will be going back with family next time. You can probably fill up for less than $20 if you go with water and no...
Read moreMy fiancée and I came in after doing some things around town. Being sushi fans, we've always wanted to try a revolving restaurant, and this absolutely fit the bill.
Walking in, we were immediately greeted and taken to our seat. Our waitress was super nice, and showed us how to order. It's really simple: you can either place your order on the tablet in your booth (which you'll need to do for drinks) or you can simply grab it off of the conveyor. Anything that you order on the tablet will either be brought on another conveyor belt or brought to your table by a rolling robot with a smiling face. Slightly Black Mirror, but fun.
For food, we both grabbed from the conveyor and ordered from the tablet. The two of us grabbed three rolls a piece and ordered an appetizer and dessert. The sushi was fresh, with all of the flavors coming together incredibly well. I definitely recommend the fried cheesecake!
All in all, it was a great visit. Kawa has sushi that hits the mark, a low key atmosphere, and enough quirks and fun to not only keep things interesting, but make you want to return.

Read moreKids loves the robot and the trains that delivered the food if you special ordered it. Waitress gave both kiddos training chopsticks which was super helpful. The ordering screen and sushi belt made getting food super fast and easy. If you like to see food before you order it, it's the best. The belt goes quick enough that you can see all the offerings in a few minutes and then grab what you liked best when it cycles again. Only a few items were frequently missing from the line up so we easily got all the things we wanted to try. The prices seemed reasonable compared to normal sushi places and all tasted really good. The kids loved the Taiyaki (fish shaped ice creams). They were excited at the end to get a token each for the prize ball machine (unclear how much you have to order to get a small prize machine token but the large machine I think said you had to order 20 plates from the belt.) The kids each got an entree (around $10) and two adults split 12 plates from the belt. Overall seemed like a good value for...
