I really wouldn't leave 1 star but you have to do something. I was there yesterday and ordered the Chicken Chow Mien Fun; description and picture showed a decent amount of vegetables which were to be shredded, I asked the server about the amount of vegetables in the dish, she barely wanted to tell me, and really only described the noodles. When I got the dish I had to search for the vegetables. And I was not sure of the very small amount of chicken in the dish, I thought it was maybe cut from the sides of chicken feet, cut in a strange way and slippery??? And pricey!!! I don't know what the flavor was supposed to be, I couldn't determine what it taste like! It was just awful and nothing like "traditional" chow mien in any way, just a bunch of thin rice noodles. It upset my stomach, I went to the bathroom and brought it up! I told the server my thoughts on it and told her I didn't like the dish; she sat down the receipt, said thank you, took about 7 steps, turned to me and shouted "Then why did you order it"? I told her because it's on your menu and I tried it and that I had a right to let them know I didn't like the food. I told her I didn't want to argue, I'll pay the bill but never come back. I paid the bill, left the take out container she'd brought to me and the "Chow Mien" and left that place. And NO, I didn't give her a tip! I had in the past purchased its crab Rangoon but I will not be going back for any reason. Just...
Read more1st Wok has always been one of my good too Chinese places, primarily for delivery, however I have eaten in on a couple of occasions and had their lunch buffet as well. just so you are not disillusioned before going there, there is no seating whatsoever and obviously no buffet is a result. It is strictly carry out and our particular carry out situation this time was less than ideal.
I feel like I need to say, and full disclosure, that we arrived hoping to eat there and spend more time figuring out what we wanted to carry out then would have been usual or normal. Do you order took a very long time, they had absolutely no air flow in the building and I was forced to go outside while we were waiting when the air became just too stifling to handle anymore. The food was still everything I would have expected and delicious. So this is just more of an FYI, I highly recommend simply ordering ahead of time with the intention of picking it up or having it delivered....
Read moreThe buffet at lunch is small but the items on it are well prepared. Ordering dinner is best done as take out. My most recent experience with dining in was quite disappointing. The cashew shrimp was bland and unremarkable. The entre portion size was good but they give you a baby size portion of WHITE rice. When I asked for more they said they would have to charge me for it. It's white rice for goodness sake! $12.00 for a dinner item should be matched with an appropriate sized bowl of rice. It took 10 minutes to get a to-go-box after getting our check. Finally we asked their teenage child in the back booth to get us a to go box.
If it wern' t for the positive dining experiences I've had there in the past, for their lunch buffet, they would have been awarded one star tonight. Take the 3 stars and consider it a gift.
Oh! My fortune cookie message.... "Customer service is like taking a bath, you have to continue doing it." Kind of appropriate...
