Tonight, my family and I enjoyed a couple of hours at the new Oakley Greens in the heart of Oakley. This expansive venue features two mini-golf courses—white and black—with the black course being more challenging.
Our session was complimentary to encourage participation, but this is likely temporary. The courses, though basic, with numerous sand traps and no major obstacles, suffice for a casual game with friends. They were well-lit, and the clearly marked holes provided convenient spots to set drinks while playing.
Rain kept the main bar closed to the golf course, but large glass garage doors promise quick drink access on fair-weather days.
Adjacent to the mini-golf, two playground structures kept the kids entertained. With numerous slides, rock walls, platforms, and even a tire swing. One pirate-ship-themed structure allowed tots to take the helm and descend into the captain's quarters via a fireman's pole. Despite the sign indicating they are unsuitable for kids under four, these playgrounds can occupy the little ones for hours. Lining one side of the property, semi-private shipping-container cabanas, each equipped with lights, tables, an outlet for phone charging, and a personal TV, were available. Though open to the public during our visit, they can be reserved for small to medium parties. Walking along the turf perimeter, we encountered three cornhole sets before reaching the expansive front patio and greens. The front patio, featuring ample seating, numerous TVs and large LED screens, and a metal roof fitted with gas heaters, also boasted a second bar. The drink selection included beers on tap, seltzers, and mixed drinks. Easy access to the interior was provided by several doors and two large glass garage doors, enhancing the venue's cohesive feel. The turf green ahead hosted tables, Adirondack chairs, more shipping-container cabanas, and two larger cabanas with rooftop patios. String lights illuminated the area, which focused on a small open-air stage. Inside, the main bar spanned one wall. It offers service to both the interior and the golf area when weather permits. Drink options mirrored the outside bar. The spacious and inviting interior provided plenty of room for drinking and dining without feeling crowded. A drink ledge for standing patrons and USB-fitted tables for charging devices added convenience. To the left of the entrance was the kitchen, "Hangry Omar's." It wasn’t clear if this was a third party or branding, but they offered sliders, pizzas, tacos, tenders, chips and salsa, and spiral-cut crispy Cajun fries, among other items. Many dishes came with "Hangry Sauce," a creamy, spicy honey mustard. The only notable omissions were basic party wings and a simpler french fry option for kids. The food was quite good; we sampled sliders, tacos, and tenders with fries. However, I was disappointed that the buffalo sauce wasn’t an option for the tenders and had to be ordered a la carte for an additional $2. Ordering via self-service kiosks was quick and painless, with a text from Omar notifying us when our food was ready. Next to the kitchen, an ice cream window offered eight traditional ice cream flavors, and ice-cream-truck favorites like a SpongeBob ice cream bar. A pro-shop selling swag and mini-golf course entries rounded out this side of the establishment. The men’s bathroom was spacious and clean, equipped with both paper towels and air dryers. However, the lack of a diaper-changing station was a notable oversight. This is an easy fix, but for now, dads must wait for the single-family restroom, which would benefit from an occupied/vacant indicator. I did not tour the women’s room but assume it includes a changing station. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with our visit and look forward to returning. Oakley Greens is well-poised to rival nearby Madtree. In the realm of large indoor-outdoor family- and dog-friendly bars, it leaves little to be desired. It's well laid out, offers fun for all ages, good food and drinks, and mini golf to boot! Oakley Greens is destined for...
Read moreIf you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Fynne at Oakley Greens in Cincinnati, you’re missing out on what might just be the most entertaining and delightful experience of your life—it’s like finding a four-leaf clover at a golf course!
From the moment I walked into Oakley Greens, I was greeted by Fynne’s smile, which could probably light up the entire bar. This isn’t just a place to grab a drink; it’s an experience, and Fynne is the dazzling tour guide leading the way. With a wit sharper than a golf tee and a charm that could charm a bird out of a tree, Fynne turned my average night into an unforgettable adventure.
Now let’s talk about the drinks. Fynne’s cocktail recommendations are like divining the secrets of the universe—each sip feels like a journey through flavor town. I ordered the “Short Game Spritz” that Fynne confidently suggested, and it was like a party in my mouth that everyone was invited to. And when it comes to multitasking, Fynne is a master. While expertly mixing cocktails, they could simultaneously chat with the regulars, answer my silly questions about the golf setup, and even throw in some banter that had the whole bar laughing. Honestly, I half-expected to see Fynne juggling limes while reciting Shakespeare.
As for the food? If you’re hungry, just let Fynne guide you. Their recommendations are spot-on; I tried the tater kegs and the nachos and I’m pretty sure they’re going to be my new obsession. Fynne has a knack for knowing exactly what you didn’t know you needed—like a culinary fortune teller.
In conclusion, if you find yourself at Oakley Greens, don’t just order and sit quietly. Seek out Fynne. Whether you’re there for the drinks, the food, or just to soak in the atmosphere, Fynne will make your experience feel like a celebration. It’s like being at a bar run by your coolest friend, and honestly, who could say no to that? Cheers to...
Read moreI was super excited to try the mixed drinks however they didn’t meet my expectations. I got the Caddy Shack margarita and it tasted like water and tequila. They were kind enough to give me a cup of sour mix, however, this didn’t fix it for me. I also tried the Duffer Daly and again, it tasted like lemon water and bourbon. Lastly, I got the Twilight Tini and the taste was amazing but lacked any hints of vodka and the presentation was terrible. They were also served in smaller cups and the prices were not displayed on the menu. The Caddy Shack and Duffer Daly were $12 each and the Twilight Tini was $14 and for the size and taste, I wouldn’t recommend. In the future, I will order something more dependable for myself like a canned seltzer.
I didn’t try any food. I did buy some ice cream, but it’s nothing special. It’s generic and overpriced for what it is.
I visited on a Saturday night around 7:30 pm. FYI - there were a lot of families and kids there at this time. For vibes, I’d recommend waiting until later at night/when it’s dark to go. They are dog friendly and there is so much space! It’s definitely a great summer spot for a chill night out. They have projectors with sports on, music, and string lights throughout. For seating they have private areas like shipping containers and elevated platform/roof tops with patios beneath, and for communal areas, a lawn, bar tops, and tables. Staff kept the areas and tables extremely clean! They also have a playground, corn hole, and will...
