At Home — Local services in Cincinnati

So I go up here from time to time... No issues! I decide to go up here yesterday and buy a collage for Mother's Day for Grandmother, Sarah's at the register She tells me over and over again that I cannot return this collage because item has a sticker on it saying 50% off. I don't never return anything to this store & it's a gift after I told her purchase is a gift she still saying I can't return this collage...😒 Okay. I didn't think the situation could get any more awkward... Very incorrect,My baby was in a cart sleep she was laying on a pillow that had a tag that was probably dangling from the pillow this pillow was from Roses, Sarah says you didn't get that pillow from here did you, something on the lines of that , I couldn't really hear but yes she's trying to check to see if I'm trying to steal this pillow that my child is knocked out on. I'm like thrown off, from the question because I've already been rung out and I'm about to walk out the door, and I'm like no and I was trying to remember where I brought the pillow from to respond to Sarah and she abruptly just cuts me off like okay all right bye That's all she wants to know ,you know awkward situation she asked me a question she wanted a yes or no bye get the hell out the store. I'm trying to think of the store and then she literally cuts me off abruptly like she just wanted a yes or no and then it's like she was very extremely rude extremely awkward and rude I didn't like the experience that I had at At Home and usually me and my children love going there because it's fun but that right there I can't do every time I walk up in there. They need to have a self checkout where shoppers can just check items out instead of dealing with awkward employers. Watch out for Sarah I think she's looking...

John was the store Mgr. at the Oakley branch his morning. He initially ignored my request for assistance until after I flagged him down. I informed him I needed assistance in finding an outdoor fountain for my back yard. He did show me where the fountains were. There were several Conk Fountains on the shelf. One was even out of the box for display. The products had a red sticker on it indicating it was 50% off. Thinking I had found a deal I took the large box to check out only to find the item had been discontinued and not for sale. I asked to speak to the Mgr. about the discrepancy. The same Mgr. John came up to check out. I voiced to him my disappointment that the item was still on the shelf giving the impression it was for sale. He proceeded to tell me I didn't need to have an attitude about it because "it was not that serious" I rebutted that I did not have an attitude but didn't understand why the item was on he shelf for sale. He statd I did have an attitude. (Wait am I really in an argument with a retail Mgr.???)He stated that he had not had a chance to scan and remove the item. He was very nasty and told me to feel free to report this issue if I wanted to. This incident occurred at 11:00 a.m. in the morning. He must of got up on he wrong side of the bed. I have a mixed review about this new big-box shopping. After a very lengthy renovation of a former Sam's club and a complete corporate rework of the old Garden Ridge store, Garden Ridge now reopens as At Home. For those who recall, Garden Ridge was a junkie, ugly big mess of a store, but it was cheap. And while the new store is attractive well laid out and full of much better quality merchandise it is obvious that beauty comes with the price. Because what was once cheap and junkie is now expensive and pretty. I walked through the entire store and I can guarantee you this store has absolutely nothing that you need; it has only things that you might want or that society or magazines tell you that you should have. Spend your money on food, friends and your family. Leave the junk...
