I love cobbler, but the ones here are just too sweet and sticky for me. I got peach, blackberry, and apple. The crust is nice and flaky with good chew to it. Cobbler crust needs to be thicker and chewier than pies, and this hit that mark. The fillings, though, had way too much sugar and thickener in them. Even warm, the sauce was gloopy. Cold wasn’t even edible, which is too bad because I love leftover cobbler straight out of the refrigerator. Sure, it’s a southern dessert and Southerners like their sweets (especially iced tea), but I’ve had peach cobblers all over the South that were delicious and easily half as sweet. It was hard to taste the fruit and any spices over the sugar and thickener. Cut that sugar by half and barely thicken the sauce, and these would be ace.
In terms of the store and staff, 5 stars. Friendly, helpful people who clearly like what they’re doing. The store is bright and cheery and open until 10. Not too many dessert places other than Graeter’s open at that hour, so nice to have that option.
So, overall, a mixed bag for me. Cut that sugar down, and they’d have a great product. Pricy, but...
Read moreFirst off let me say I'm biased because I knew this place before they were a franchise when they were selling cobbler at the Jefferson Street farmers market in Nashville, TN and they would sell out every weekend. Franchises can be good for the pocket but sometimes the product suffers in the attempt to increase profits and decrease cost. That being said the star of the franchise is the cobbler. Although it tastes a bit different there is still a great balance between fruit filling and lots of crust. On the other hand, the pudding in the banana pudding is not homemade. It definitely has that straight out of the can fake vanilla taste IMO. I got the OG and couldn't finish it. Thought about trying another flavor on my next visit but decided against it. If you are not picky or really don't know real banana pudding then you may think it's great. The cobbler won't disappoint. Haven't tried the brownies or the...
Read more1st time there on 7/6/24, traveling. I wanted to stop there because I have heard great things and we don’t have one in Northern Indiana. Friendly staff, clean, the flight was perfect for us 2 to share with 4 different flavors. That was 19.00 but good price for 2 to share. Pics attached. 2 things I would recommend to make it 100%, offer water for free in a filter in the dining area and the menu is hard to see because it’s up high and behind the counter, having another menu to look at while standing in line would be great so you l own what you want when you get up to order. Besides that, great! I would go again if I saw one traveling. My favorite was the cinnamon peach praline. Also had blackberry, cherry & peach plus it came with 1 big scoop of icecream too! I needed coffee after this, very rich. Enjoy & hopefully this...
