I want to start by saying I’ve been here 2 or 3 times prior to this. It’s a great atmosphere, and the service hasn’t necessarily been stellar but pretty good.
A few weekends back for my friends 21st I decided to DD them and ended up spending a few hundred dollars. We all had a great time, despite the bar being completely packed. I worked with either the manager or the owner to get great service. They really did well, however we were the last to leave and when we did I forgot my jacket inside with my car keys. After walking to my car and realizing I obviously couldn’t drive my friends home for their birthday without keys, I went back to the door to see someone walking out. So I asked them if it would be okay if either I could go in to grab my jacket and keys or if they could look for me.
A simple “no” would suffice and I would just order and Uber or find a way for them home (25 minutes away) This was when I was immediately hit and pushed to the ground where the employee stood over me screaming obscenities, cussing me out, and degrading me as a human because I guess he thought I wanted in the bar to party as I’d imagine plenty drunks do on the weekend? I’m not sure.
Either way, I was forced to leave my keys and jacket there and wait in 15 degree weather for an Uber that didn’t come for about an hour. At 3am in downtown Cincinnati with my drunk friends. When all of this could have been avoided easily. I don’t think I will ever be back to Tin Roof after that, simply because of the decent service and this one particular extreme event that stands above the rest. I’m not sure of the employees name, but I’d rather not go to a bar sober, spend hundreds of dollars, and end up with bruises all over and sore because I’m trying to get my friends home safely for their birthday from their establishment.
I just hope this employee does not have interactions with other customers like this because it truly...
Read moreI will say the bartenders were phenomenal. I am in town for work and wanted to have a few drinks to calm down for the night. The manager happened to come in with a few acquaintances and walked behind the bar. I noticed him staring me down like he had a personal vengeance. I happened to be with a fairly local individual that I met on the south side in Covington who actually brought me there. The manager asked me “you good bro” In an extremely confrontational manner without me doing anything to warrant his exchange of words with me. It bothered me enough that I asked the security guard who he was and why he was staring me down. Apparently he had an issue with the individual I was with and somehow that translated to him having an issue with me while he repeatedly kept saying “if I had an issue with you you would know it” like he was some type of mob boss. Overall his attitude turned a very pleasant night into an uncomfortable night. Definitely a highly ego driven individual that chose to ask us repeatedly “you good bro”. 1/10 would not recommend this location for any casual drinks on a slow night where you might be forced to deal with...
Read moreI've never had a good experience at a Tin Roof in any city, and Cincinnati doesn't disappoint. The bouncers are incompetent jerks as usual. At this particular location, they stamped both of my hands on entry, and did not stamp either of my friend's hands. When she stepped out of the bar for a conversation, she wasn't allowed back in because she didn't have a stamp on her hand. The bouncers insisted she show her identification and pay the cover again, which she could not do because she had left her purse and wallet inside the bar. They would not even allow her to go get it and show it to them. Luckily a friend still inside the bar was able to be called and bring it out, but the staff at Tin Roof are certainly no friend to their clients.
Also at this bar, a strange and huge man harassed me in the bathroom, yelling at me, intimidating me, trying to get me to fight, and ultimately spitting directly in my face and eye. Although this isn't directly the fault of Tin Roof per se, it does show an example of the type of disgusting and dangerous trash who patronize these...
