Honestly, I wasn't sure whether to leave a review because we were inside for about three minutes and didn't eat and didn't drink. Having said that, I'm leaving one anyway. We have Broadway series tickets at the Aronoff on Sunday evenings, and I always look forward to trying new downtown restaurants, so I made a reservation for 5:15 ahead of a 6:30 curtain. It was over an hour after the Bengals game ended (and we lost), and while the place was full of Bengals fans (we are Bengals fans ourselves and had watched the game ourselves before coming downtown), the weird part was just how LOUD the music was. I'd made a reservation for bar seats (we like sitting at the bar and wanted to be able to watch other games), and the hostess was very nice and welcomed us in and then walked us right past the, admittedly very crowded, bar to a small two-top where she had to lean over to me and shout in my ear that we could sit on the same side of the table if we wanted to be able to talk better (there wasn't really room for two people on one side). My husband and I sat at the table for about 30 seconds, realized that we had no chance at conversation and before leaving we very nicely told the hostess it just wasn't the evening we were looking for. I was just really confused at the tone - the website says "sports bar & lounge, is a mix of the luxury of an athletics club and the warmth of a family bar, walking the line between upscale and comfortable." The restaurant is beautiful, and I might expect that kind of club vibe later at night, but the music blasting in the late afternoon/early evening as people are trying to watch football, have a few drinks and chat with friends after a game, and/or eat dinner was just a strange choice and I was really disappointed. I'm leaving a 3 star review since I'm fully aware we weren't able to give it a fair shot, but our experience was 1-2 stars at best. I might give it another chance in a few months now that I've level set my...
Read moreShocking experience with staff… from waitress to the floor manager / marketing manager.
So disappointment the service was unbelievable disrespectful. We were enjoying our 1-year wedding anniversary, and hoping for a special evening with some live music, drinks, food and a good time. No attention and care from our assigned server at all.
From the start, our table was not attended to. We wanted to order food and drinks but weren’t able. We waived and approached staff members, 30min at a time the waitress came by, no apology, no smile and no interest or effort at all. We wanted to be looked after by another staff but all the servers we spoke to said that they couldn’t change over. At this point we should’ve walked away..
We had finally a drink and a few items that we ordered for food (still missing the half of the order) we simply wanted to leave the venue asap.
Unfortunately we had to wait another half an hour to receive the bill. Other staff informed us that they could not process our payment because it was not their table..
It was disheartening for such a special occasion to be overshadowed by such poor service. While we understand that busy nights can sometimes cause delays, this level of neglect and mismanagement was unacceptable.
We did not want to post a negative review on Google or on other platforms as this may harm the venues reputation so we reached out to the Marketing manager who was at the venue. She mentioned to send an email with our concerns and that they will refund 50% of our bill back on our credit card. Or a food credit for the next time we visit.
I’ve emailed them twice, and they never came back with a solution. We’ve been left in the dark just like our 1st year anniversary night at the venue. I would not recommend to visit this venue and will never step a foot in that door again. What a waste of money, time and most importantly our 1st year...
Read moreWe were exploring downtown Cincinnati looking for a pregame spot when we came across Vintage. What started as a promising visit quickly turned into a frustrating experience that left us walking out without our food.
The initial service was fine. We were greeted promptly by the host and seated right away, despite the restaurant being about half full. Our server came to our table within five minutes to take our drink and food orders, which seemed efficient at the time.
Things went downhill from there. Our (party of 2) drinks arrived about 10 minutes later and while they were overpriced, the quality was acceptable. About 20 minutes after ordering, our server told us our food—cauliflower and breakfast stir-fry—was "next up."
We waited. And waited. Meanwhile, we watched table after table around us receive their meals, even those who had clearly ordered after us. After 45 minutes of waiting with no food in sight, we finally asked to cancel our order.
What made this experience particularly disappointing was our server's reaction when we canceled. She seemed genuinely surprised but offered absolutely no explanation for the delay, no apology, and no attempt at a solution. Not even a "let me check on that for you" or an offer to comp our drinks for the inconvenience. Just acceptance of the cancellation and that was it.
For a restaurant that wasn't even at full capacity, this level of service is unacceptable. When you're waiting longer than customers who arrived after you, something is seriously wrong in the kitchen or with order management. The complete lack of accountability or customer service recovery when we canceled sealed the deal.
We will not be returning to Vintage. If you're looking for a reliable pregame spot in downtown Cincinnati, I would recommend looking elsewhere. There are too many good options in the area to waste...
