A Saturday evening I called, ( first time Getting info and ordering) had a birthday celebration I asked about pies for. I was told my order would be ready and boxed for time of 6:30 Following day -Sunday. I spoke with a young lady who took my pie order for pick up on Sunday night. Pleasant and said she wrote out my info and there would be no concerns. Sunday; while driving/riding down to Citrus Heights to Nations restaurant from home in grass Valley, I called Nations to confirm my pie order, pie pick up and time. A young lady who answered my call explained the pies would be ready and boxed no problem, confirming twice that they would be ready to pick up as soon as I got there. When I got there the young lady behind the counter looked around said there were no pies for me I tried to explain the situation and call that I had made and I order I placed on Saturday. As I started to get concerned and tried asking where and how my order could be missing, the young lady ā€œJulieā€ suddenly went to back of kitchen out of sight with a slightly older female employee. When she returned to cash register area she shrugged and dismissed my concerns and pulled up a pie in box and said we just have one.... She Just cut into other pie for a order and their were no More berry. So this is it. I was couldn’t believe the lack of professionalism the lack of follow through and even becoming rude because I was questioning how and where an order I confirmed less than an hour ago had now been so disregarded. The young lady was not helpful and became rude about my questions and shut me down with shoulder shrugging and ā€œsoā€... I paid for 1 pie, and when she put away the 3/4 pie that was supposed to be my 2nd pie I had pre ordered,I began to leave, bewildered and got a comment card and asked the cashiers name that confirmed my order when I had called an hour prior. She pulled at her name tag proudly displaying with the most smug smirk I have seen a cashier/ customer service staff proudly display. As I walked toward door I could overhear The other staff at the grill sarcastically talking about my order and my being upset about what happened. I went back and for a rare time I spoke up in my defense, telling them I could hear them and if they were going to be rude and talk about me at least be professional about waiting till I was out the door. Still very dirty looks and clearly no care about the old school manners is the norm that I will not Payton drive miles from home and 2 phone calls to be treated so rudely. But, it’s 3 staff The employees smug looks with ā€œso whatā€ lack of customer service was consistent among the 3 staff. I will not be back, which clearly was not a concern of the staffs. But what I will do is explain to some Long time & larger sales customers that recommended ā€œNationā€ and I’m certain they will not use the services they had been. This will not make any difference to the company or the 3 staff that are paid examples of the company, but the lack of customer service to myself and the lady customer behind me who witnessed all, made us extremely put off by their...

I am no stranger to "Nation's Giant Hamburgers" as I frequented many of their locations when I used to live in the Bay Area. Since it had been well over two decades (my last time eating at one of their locations was around 1998-99), I figure I was due for my Nation's fix. This takes me on a trip to the Sunrise Marketplace in Citrus Heights where I finally had the opportunity trying their delicious burgers.

Located directly on busy Sunrise Blvd. and just north of Madison Ave. in Citrus Heights, this Nation's location has been around since late-2011. Which is very surprising considering the amount of eateries that come and go; particularly in this part of town. I came here on the evening of Friday 8/27/2021 at around 6:45pm. Parking was very easy to find and there were a ton of open spaces available. And many people may not know this; as of late-2021, this is the only Nation's Giant Hamburgers in the Sacramento area with many of their locations in the Bay Area and a few locations in the San Joaquin Valley.

As far as the inside goes, this place is very spacious. Considering there was only one other customer dining in during my visit, the place had plenty of available seating throughout with a significant amount of tables and booths. I almost consider the look and feel of this place resembling a small modern diner; especially since they specialize in sweet treats such as their famous pies with over a dozen to choose from. They also have a large dedicated breakfast menu as well as chicken sandwiches, fish burgers, BLT's, chili dogs, and of course what they are known for which is their standard burgers.

Since I wanted the burger experience, I went the simple route by ordering a plain "Hamburger" with everything on it, a side of fries and a drink. Total price came to around $12 (after tax). This place offers a self-serve fountain drink area and a condiment station which includes ketchup and hot sauce. After my order was ready, I was ready to indulge to find out if this place was as good as I remember. After the first bite, the overall flavor and taste was well above average. The burger was seasoned to perfection while the bun had the right amount of consistency. They also packed a ton of lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and pickles (as those are available upon request). The fries were soft on the inside with the right amount of crisp on the outside.

Overall, "Nation's Giant Hamburgers" was an above average experience. Service was just average as many of the employees really didn't converse with me when I ordered or when I received my food. Keep in mind that this part of town has some competition with "Smashburger" and "The Habit" being less than 1/2 mile away. But for a delicious, generous sized burger, definitely give Nation's a try. My rating, a...

I'm giving the food a four star because my hamburger meat was a little pink, but it was still good but I want to give a review on the service and the atmosphere with the young man that's at the register and I think the management has definitely changed first of all the boy at the register had an earpiece in his ear and he took our order and I changed it and he seemed like he got a little irritated because I changed it from a cheeseburger to some sliders and he wanted to make sure that it was only cheeseburgers that was coming nothing else even though the sliders are up there with french fries then we order two things of fries so that's one hamburger a slider with two cheeseburgers and two orders of fries that come up to $22 and something sent. I had no problem with that. The problem came when he went to go drop the fries. He did not wash his hands, but he dropped fries and he had been touching the register he had been touching credit cards. He haven't touching money. He touched his earpiece. He answered the phone and then he dropped another batch of fries so I said to myself I was right he did touch my fries. Without a glove. Now the other two young ladies had a glove on. That's why I didn't mind eating the hamburger. I ordered two orders of fries. I didn't want mine after I seen what he done but my grandson 12 years old he didn't didn't care when I wanted my money back for these fries. He really got even more agitated and told me that the fries was for his lunch. He lied. I seen him drop my fries and I seen him drop another Customer fries. That's a lot of fries for lunch. he said your fries are already done. Yeah, I know they're done and I know you test them with your raw hands instead of a glove. If you're touching the money, you touching the register you touching the computer you answering the phones you using credit cards you should be washing your hands and so I got my money back for the fries. He got irritated because he didn't know how to put my money back on a credit card so he offered me four dollars cash. when our order came up, he went into our bag without washing his hands and grab one of the fries back, which is cool but why are you in my bag without washing your hands? I will never go to this establishment ever again because it's not the same nation hamburger you can tell. That no one goes there if he's working because he's going to touch your food after touching credit cards and money and computers and terminals that's it. Oh yeah, and we didn't get any napkins. It's like if you don't ask for none they won't give you not trying to save...

First and foremost, the man who served the food, Kamal, was absolutely friendly. A prime example of this is when he rung up the order, there was an initial misunderstanding with one bag of fries instead of two. However, despite this, he gave an extra bag out of pure kindness. My dad has always talked about how delicious their cocounut creme pie is; therefore, it was an instant must-have item from the menu. The entire order consisted of a coconut creme pie, two orders of grilled chicken sandwiches with fries (Of course, on both orders), an Oreo shake, and a chocolate shake. All of which looked, smelled, and tasted fresh, showing the restaurant's dedication to providing the utmost quality when it comes to the food and drinks they provide. Even when taking it from Citrus Heights to Elk Grove, the food maintained it's excellent quality as if it had just been ordered and made. The chicken sandwich had, without a doubt, reached the expectations, as it was quite impressive it looked as it would on a menu, and even had grill marks on there, which adds another layer as most restaurants that serve chicken sandwiches do not add any grill marks whatsoever. The sandwich itself was incredibly savory, with the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and the chicken patty itself. However, one additional aspect that stood out was the sauce that was used. Although it was most likely just mayonnaise, it added to the chicken sandwich, and complemented the taste of the onions, giving the overall sandwich an excellent taste, perfect for lunch. The fries were equally as amazing, as they're cooked in 100% canola oil rather than any beef or pork related oils, which felt like a relief. The combo paired together quite well, and it was an enjoyable meal. As for the coconut cream pie, it was wonderful, the cream had such a savory texture and flavor, it felt not too thick nor too thin, striking a significantly perfect balance. The pie itself was excellent, with the coconut truly shining flavor-wise, and each bite was just more enjoyable than the other. Overall, this restaurant is an excellent place to go to for lunch, and a customer inside even mentioned that their breakfast is amazing as well. Lastly, the service adds to the restaurant experience. This is, without a doubt, a must-visit place, and I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Stopped in here today and sadly was very unimpressed. The food smelled so good as soon as we walked in. The pies looked great. They may have been great but I didn’t try one. The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept. Staff was all very friendly. It wasn’t a bad visit entirely. What I did have problems with was the food. Don’t get me wrong. It was not ā€œhorribleā€. The hamburger tasted decent at first. Until I came across a small piece of cardboard inside of it when the entire burger started to fall apart on me. I didn’t bother to complain or make a big scene about this. Figured maybe it had been from the packaging or something like that. Next was the chili cheese fries. Chili was decent. But the cheese that was on them was not even melted. It was just a partially heated piece of what looked to be square kraft cheese. Not very appetizing. The onion rings were good. Wish they gave bigger sides of ranch since it was nearly impossible to dip the onion ring inside of it. All in all I feel highly let down. I have heard great things about this place before but did not see any of these during my visit. I definitely set my expectations way too high. Hopefully other people’s experience will be better. I myself will not be returning.
