It was one the of the hottest days of the summer and after going on a little adventure to Bannerman’s Island, we needed a little pick me up called boba tea. Asahi was the perfect place equipped and ready to make us happy with exactly what we wanted.

From Thai tea to taro, this place serves up the classics plus their very own fruity and fun specials which is what I ended up going for. I couldn’t resist their beautiful seasonal purple drink with lemon and pea flower with little surprise bursts of flavor lychee boba.

It was delicious, refreshing and so good!! When ordering milk tea, I always do slightly less sweet and less ice. For this one I kept the sweetness as it was and did less ice which I totally should’ve known not to since it was for sure one of the hottest days and it quickly melted away. I will say, since the boba bursts with lychee sweetness, I could’ve for sure gone down a bit on the sweetness level. Other than that, it was delish!

Love that you can order ahead online or order from their DIY order station. Can’t wait to try their bowls next time, everything looked so fresh and refreshing for a nice...

I had only time to grab a Large Taro Milk Tea with no sugar (I didn't miss it!), regular Ice Level and extra (Honey/Crystal) Bobas. However, I was drooling over their salads and the next time I visit, I will definitely have one of their salads along with another one of their Boba Teas! I came back with a friend for lunch. He is a Sushi fan and he said it was the freshest Sushi he ever tasted. I had a Poke (pronounced "Po-kay") Bowl with Brown Rice, Tofu, Salmon, and Shrimp. I added Cucumber, Edamame, Green Onion, Sweet Corn, Red Onion, Grape Tomatoes, Broccoli, Mango and Avocado. I chose the Non-Spicy House Poke Sauce and my garnish was Cashew Nuts. It was absolutely fresh, cool and refreshing. For my beverage, I had a Large Jasmine Green Milk Tea with no sugar (I didn't miss it!), Regular Ice Level and extra Boba (Honey/Crystal). It was absolutely delicious. I loved the ambience of the restaurant with its clean, elegant lighting and decorations. The restaurant was immaculate. The restroom was unisex, accessible and immaculate. We are looking forward...

The people working here are pretty rude when it comes to the ordering process. They should allow you too see the food while it's being made, it's the whole point of the open concept and having the ingredients on display. Also if you are unfamiliar with poke or the ordering process then seeing what you order is a great help.

You should be able to order while you look at what the toppings are, instead they make you use a kiosk or the far counter so you can't see if anything looks sketchy.

The whole point of coming into the store is that I get to have a bit of say about how my meal is made and visually see if anything looks old or sketchy.

Of course after we got home we found they drowned the bowls in sauce even though we asked for light sauce making them barely edible.

I don't think I'll waste my money here again since the owner doesn't even seem to understand why this is a problem and the food turned out...

I was so excited to order when I found out about this place. I’ve been waiting for a place like this since moving back from Reno but..the full menu was a nice surprise as it includes many beverages and sushi rolls, not just poke. Before ordering online, I called to ask about the boba and the woman who answered the phone was very helpful and informed me that boba does come with all milk teas. I got a poke bowl which was delicious, fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. The prices are better than Reno, NYC and even the place up in Kingston. The boba is as chewy, the texture i expect and am pleased with. The shop in itself is small with a few tables and bar seating in front of a window, but cute overall. I will absolutely be back.

We stopped by for lunch while exploring Beacon and wanted something Japanese or Asian-style. I ordered the Salmon Lover poke bowl, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Perfect balance of fresh salmon, spicy salmon, rice, and veggies. Everything tasted super fresh. I asked for the sauce on the side, which was a great option. Cozy indoor seating with friendly service, plus a good selection of lemonades. Highly recommend if you’re craving a fresh, flavorful poke!
