The only reason there is a 1 star is because you have to put a star to write a review. The first time I went to this place, my husband and I were looked at like we were so out of place. The tables were closed, but could sit at the bar. We could tell the people sitting at the bar were regulars at the establishment. We were made to feel uncomfortable enough that we had 1 beer and left. (Sorry, I thought we were visiting a tourist town?!)
Fast forward 2 years. 8 of us were staying at the Drury Inn (next door). We came to Frankenmuth to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday. After dinner at Zehnders, we decided to stop in there because it's right next door to our hotel. When we walked in, there were the same locals sitting at the bar as before. This time, the tables were open, so we decided to make the best of it and have some drinks. It was about 8:30PM and the bar was open until 11. We were sitting there enjoying eachother's company, and ordered a round of shots. Not only were the drinks WAY overpriced, but they were awful. Oh well, no big deal. We don't have a lot of options at this point, so it is what it is. I put some money in the jukebox and some of our group went outside to smoke. As I am picking songs, a man walked up to me and told me that I needed to stop playing music because they were closing early. What?! Mind you this guy was sleeping sitting up, passed out drunk at the end of the bar when I ordered the round of shots. I said "it's only 9:30. I thought you were open until 11?" He said "Well the bar tender called and said she was too high to come to work. I guess this is an excuse now since marijuana is legal." In the meantime, one of our group that went outside to smoke, called me and asked if I could go open the door because the man I have been speaking of, locked them out. They were locked out with their belongings inside with the rest of us that don't smoke. When I opened the door, the man came running over saying "You can't come in here. I said were closed" Obviously we didn't want to stay there any longer. I do not recommend this place. If you are a tourist, don't bother. Just read...
Read moreI've never been treated as awful anywhere as I was treated by the people who worked there. If you're a tourist Don't Go There! They are only nice to locals. It was my sisters birthday and it was the only place open at the time. I tripped on the icy sidewalk before walking in and scraped my knees. When I walked in, I was in tears from my fall and some old blonde bartender lady who worked there walked up to us and accused me of being drunk because I was crying. She was extremely rude and treated my family awful. We finally walked into the bar and everyone in there stared us down and gave us dirty looks. I showed the bartender my drivers license and he refused to serve me. My drivers license wasn't expired and it clearly said I was over the age of 21, there was nothing wrong with it. I even had a credit card and other i.d. to prove it was legit and he still refused to serve me. They then made me and my family leave. It was the worst restaurant/bar experience I have ever had in my entire life and they ruined my...
