Los Latinos Deli & Grill — Restaurant in City of Long Beach

Food is pretty overpriced and only okay. The lady who was serving us was nice but there's a slight language barrier when we tried to ask questions.

Large aluminum container of yellow rice with beef stew $20. I was stunned when I got the price for this. On their wall menu the price was like $13 for lunch (in the same size) so I didn't expect it to be this much more.

3 empanadas at $2 each. I got the cheese, chicken and beef. All were a bit bitter from what I think is old frying oil. The filling was, you guessed it, "eh" and on the dry side, could have benefited from some hot sauce.

Pint of black beans $1, this was probably the best item we got. I think they charged us an extra $1 for the plastic container? We're not sure how the math added up otherwise.

We wanted to try something different in our neighborhood so we searched Google for Spanish food and this deli came up. Everything is displayed in steam tables.. While we were there the food was continuously coming out fresh from the kitchen. We had a variety of mixed meats. Bourbon chicken, grilled steak and roasted pork with Spanish rice. black beans and some fried plantains. The food was delicious. It looked and tasted homemade. The portions were huge! By the amount of customers coming in you could tell that this was a regular stop for them. Will definitely return. Went into this inconspicuous looking restaurant to find myself in love with the place. Great music, proper tables with tablecloth, silverware and real glasses!! (I can't believe I actually need to write this as a positive instead of it being normal)

We got there for the happy hour special, and the drinks and snacks were amazing. The staff was very friendly and fun and the service was excellent. Decided to go later that evening for dinner and was even happier with the full meal, which was a great size for what we paid. Received true value for everything we got!!
