Before I write a review I like to read the "bad reviews". Most of the negative ones were written 3 years ago and some of them having me shaking my head like "my husband got intoxicated from the Chicken Francais" (hilarious and ridiculous) and another with we sent back the sold Seafood Salad (newsflash- seafood salad is supposed to be cold). I had dinner here last night and it was excellent as was our waitress Lisa. Our waitress Lisa was excellent and gave us specials of the night which were varied, excellent choices and combinations, and the specials weren't reinvented or recreated from the existing menu, like some restaurants are guilty of. The bonus, it being a Monday night, the specials and to a certain degree, even regular menu could have been changed (i,e fish special can be offered Livornese style) to your liking. We were also offered a free appetizer after we got our drinks are were deciding to finally order. Even the martini was excellent and given a choice of different olives- if I preferred. And got THREE olives, which is how it should be IMO. The service, the food, the ambiance, the drinks were all top notch. Only problem is so much greatness to choose from, so little time I will definitely be...
Read moreI have eaten at Baldoria 4 times in the past couple of months. First and formeost I, as well as those dining with me, found the food to be good. I did have an issue with one entree durning aprevious visit however neither the waitress nor manager addressed this when brought to their attention. I mentioned it to the manager and he gives me his card and said "call me tomorrow". Not an appropriate response. Upon visiting the other night I mentioned this again to him and it was addressed by way of a round of lemongello shots at the end of our meal. The other night we were a party of 8 and the dirty glasses from our first ropund of drinks and dishes from the appetizers sat on the table for quite a while until it was brought to their attention. That is why I rate it 3 stars. As mentioned the food is good but the service is not reflective of a restaurant in which the average meal is $75 p/person. If they can get the service level on par with the quality of food this will be a go to restaurant Until then I'll wait until they get their "newly opened restaurant" growing pains...
Read moreFirst let’s start with the service at Baldoria: it was amazing from the sweet hostess to the bartender’s friendly suggestions to Frank the waiter with his on the money suggestions for each course. The presentation of the appetizers and the taste was to die for on everything from the zucchini to the oyster Rockefeller which had exactly the right amount of breadcrumbs and the tuna tartare with the chips, well let’s just say it didn’t last long on the table. The Branzino and the Tuna entree were full of flavor and did not disappoint. We found ourselves admiring each entrée as it passed because they all looked so delicious. Then onto desert The rainbow cake OMG a must have and pair it up with an espresso martini made with real espresso not just vodka went down real smooth. And what’s better than finishing a wonderful night off with a little limoncello. As somebody who eats out very often in multiple places throughout the five boroughs and Long Island I definitely give Baldoria a five star rating for all areas of fine dining. We will absolutely be back with...
