Absolutely the best! I wish I could give more stars to this place because it is a legitimate Japanese experience of what sashimi and sushi should be. Good selection of Sake and beer. The miso soup was perfection. I ordered the miso cod as an appetizer. Definitely recommend! Cooked perfectly, not overly seasoned or sweet. Just great flakey fish the way it should be with perfectly chared and crispy skin. Sushi and sashimi sampler + California roll was a great value. Specialty rolls ordered did not disappoint! The David roll was AMAZING!! Spider roll with soft shelled crab was good too, lots of crab, enjoyed very much. Now on to my favorites, as of this wasn't enough already lol, the medium Toro.. OMG literally brought tears to my eyes, I'm still so happy just thinking about it. Super fatty, great cuts, best I have had outside of Japan. Finally.. THE SWEET SHRIMP!! Definitely order this! I didnt get a picture of the fried head but it was fried to perfection. Light breading, perfectly cooked. The sweet shrimp sushi was plump, sweet, with a small crunchy bite to it. This is one of my favorite things and I'm so glad it was as good as it was. Kudos to the Chef and his team on excellent execution, awesome service, and friendly staff. Highly recommended, and will be back next time...

Yesterday I went with two long time friends to Nagahama Sushi to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. I had bought her a $100 gift card and this would be the first time we would be able to use it. First the good - the food is excellent and easily compares to anything else around. I've been here several times and would definately return for the food alone. I would definately return despite the negative points below; the food is simply that good. We had sushi, tempura and a slew of appetiziers, all done to perfection. The negative - when we tried to pay, the manager told us there was a zero balance on the unused gift card. Fortunately we had both the gift receipt and the credit card I used for the gift card. We waited a half hour for this to be sorted out. The manager was very apologetic, and said that this happened frequently, apparenyly so we wouldn't take it personally. He even showed us a list of accounts in which he had similar problems. I don't know what would have happened if we didn't bring the gift receipt and if I didn't have access to my credit card account. I would recommned this place, despite the gift card debacle but I'd strongly advise against buying...

What a disappointment, they have a manager who clearly doesn’t know anything about the hospitality industry. We called for delivery, after an hour and change we call to see if the delivery they advised would be 30-45 mins has left. They tell us it’s 5 minutes away. After another 43 minutes we called back, politely asked if it has left, they advise us it was sitting there and they thought it was a pick up, even though we called twice inquiring about our “delivery” the manager says I’ll send someone right now he will be there in minutes. 33 minutes later we realized he wasn’t coming as it does not take 33 minutes to travel 6 blocks. We called back and the order was canceled. This is what happens when you make your delivery driver your manager. Not a single apology or anything else. Just a waste of time and very inconsiderate people. There are just as good options in LB who actually value your business. Especially with the prices this place charges. PS i was just very ting to a friend about this experience and he explained his wife got food poisoning while pregnant he didn’t hear and when they notified the restaurant they couldn’t care less. Some arrogance...

Very enjoyable sushi spot in a cozy Convenient spot in Long Beach. This resturant had such a cozy feel to it when we walked in. Super friend staff and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our orders came out nice and quick. We started with the gyoza, which had a great crisp to it. Then we split a few rolls. We got the crunchy spicy scallop roll, the no-name roll, and the smoked salmon roll. All very tasty, but the no-name roll was my favorite. The smoked salmon did have a very good smoked taste to it however. I noticed last minute that they had uni so I decided to give that a try. Very interesting, to say the least. Heavy ocean taste with a buttery texture. It's worth a try at least once. This place is worth a swing in if you're looking for some nice sushi.

Always a wonderful experience at Nagahama. The food is authentic and top quality, extremely fresh and well prepared. Beautiful sushi and sashimi selections, on par with what you’d find right in the heart of Japan. Definitely try the Toro (Bluefin tuna — a market price selection) and Unagi (salt water eel). Outstanding rolls, too. A large bottle of hot Sake complemented our meal nicely. We enjoyed that our server was wearing a kimono, a small touch that made the whole experience feel more authentic. Overall, this place is consistently serving up quality. I highly recommend!
