Black House Beignet — Restaurant in City of Niagara Falls

Visited Black House Beignet coffee shop and bakery down by the casino on the corner of Niagara st and 7th street today. It was recommended by our district legislator. So, I asked my son and his fiancé to come down and try it with me. I’ve never had a Beignet before. Wasnt even sure what It was to be honest.

Turns out, it’s a delicately delicious little puff pastry coated with powdered sugar. Warm, light, and paired perfectly with the chicory coffee that was fresh brewed. Apparently it’s a staple in New Orleans.

The owner and host Denise was more than happy to explain each of the different artifacts, and what they meant and where they came from. Although we only had the basic beignet there is a variety including one with honey, which I will try next week. She is also working on a bigger menu of Cajun style food, such as gumbo and more savory beignets, including salmon, which she was kind enough to let us try a small sample today. 

If you live in the Niagara Falls or surrounding area, it’s worth a trip to check it out. It’s right across from the gas station next to the casino and Nativa. I prefer patronizing small local businesses. You certainly cannot go wrong at the Black House Beignet. I will definitely be back to see what mouthwatering recipe Denise brings Niagara Falls from...

We went to Niagara a couple weeks ago, and we really had a craving for beignets. Black House Beignet was the first to pop up on Google. So we decided to check it out and grab some.

Each type of beignet was delicious and the owner was extremely nice!! She told us about the city and gave us some of her pizza beignets to try (which P.S. could use more cheese in the middle, but she already knew that lol).

We stopped in today and they were technically closed but the owner Denise offered to turn on the oil and make us fresh beignets. She chatted with us for a while while the oil and she is so sweet and kind. I would have stopped back simply becuse of her kind personality but the beignets are so delicious it's going to be difficult to keep us away! Im looking forward to trying the pizza ones...
