DO NOT STAY HERE. Safety concerns.
This is genuinely the most filthy, disgusting and unsafe place I’ve ever had the displeasure of setting foot into in my 32 years on this planet. Please let me tell you about my trip.
I arrived with my family as part of a Tour group from Sydney, and it was trouble before we even set foot in the door. It’s right next to run down graffiti covered houses a couple of doors down with boarded up windows, the area it’s in is extremely unsafe. Our tour guide warned us not to walk to the streets or leave the hotel after sundown. It’s advertised as a short walk to the falls. It’s not.
Nothing was prepared, no room keys, the check in process was exceedingly slow. staff do not speak English well.
Sub basement floor, I leaned the door and it opened immediately, no key or handle, thought it a fluke, it wasn’t. The smell nauseating. Fish. I pulled out the chair to take a seat. It was covered in stains soaked into the fabric. I pulled the door shut behind me making sure it was closed before pressing on the door again. It opened. The security lock, broken. Room door has been kicked in and the room robbed before. Front desk, offered a refund then retracted it.
People complaining given dirty unmade rooms, another room had a blocked toilet, another no working lights.
Front desk insisted that “he just works here” no explanations for broken and unclean rooms. His wife and daughter then returned from grocery shopping. He screamed at her about unclean rooms.multiple complaints had come in about cleanliness, his family live in and operate this hotel. He lied to guests to avoid taking responsibility. All in front of customers.
New room, holes in the roof and curtains were stained. Cockroach in bathroom. Tap is broken.
Blood and snot is stuck to the shower curtain. A pubic hair. Stuck to the bathroom wall. This bathroom hasn’t been cleaned at all.
Discovered the side door to the rooms. Direct access to the hallways where the rooms are. It was still unlocked and open to the public at midnight. Anybody can enter off the street, this entrance unmonitored. Another broken door part on the floor. This place is broken into a lot. Probably by the inhabitants from the surrounding broken down homes. Can feel holes in the floor underneath the carpet. Hallways are riddled with cobwebs and spiders. The tvs are analogue and my aunts didn’t even turn on. My mothers room had blood on the sheets and my aunt had a dirty ice bucket full of someone else’s old water. No plastic bag.
Mould growing under the rim of the sink and floors have dirt accumulated in all corners. Thin ceilings mean that you can hear talking and walking above you. Lights stopped working in the middle of the night. Then turned back on after a few hours. Faulty wiring. Bed squeaky and uncomfortable.
I hope that this stops you from booking this hotel it’s everything from broken, run down, old, and grimy to unsafe and inhospitable. I hope that this review saves you from having to experience this place yourself.

Read moreI arrived at this hotel because it was one of the most affordable around and it was at a great location. I booked as I walked in the hotel around 8:00 pm because I was driving from the Midwest and I wasn't sure when I would make it to this location. In any case I was welcomed by Crystal, she was very patient and helpful. The rooms were clean with basic items like refrigerator, TV, A/C, desk, Iron and an ironing board. We stayed at the b Third floor which had a partial view of Canada and a clear view of the Hot air balloon rides. At night you could see the lights of the fireworks over the falls. (I Said the lights, not the Fireworks itself!) But that gives you an idea of how close to the tourist area you are at. The breakfast is very basic but there is breakfast. Waffles, bagles, cereal, coffee, tea and yogurt, if you go early enough you can find apples and oranges. Breakfast is served from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. There is not early or late check out available. Also this hotel doesn't storage bags for you if you arrived early so just get here when after check-in time which is at 3:00 pm and check out is at 11:00 but they ask you to do it a bit earlier if possible.
The area is not safe to be walking alone specially at night, the whole New York side of the Niagara falls is very sketchy with rundown buildings and houses, I saw many drug addicts around, some homeless people but at night you shouldn't be walking around even though you are just 1 mile away from the tourist attractions. Just drive or Uber there. TIP: There is a parking lot near the international bridge/ mall of you enter before 10:00 am is $15 all day after that is $30.
Also there is a restaurant downstairs the hotel but it was always close or about to be closed when we walked by it. It is a small Italian restaurant. There are not good restaurants or food around, you will have to drive to find something good on the other side of the mainland is just a 10 minute drive but the whole neighborhood improves and so do the stores and restaurants.
If you need anything there is a store called TOPS where you can buy anything you need (again I will avoid it unless you really need to) about 2 miles away I went and everyone was sketchy and lots of drugged addicts on one side of the building. But 10 minutes away towards Walmart is a lot nicer. Overall, this is an ok hotel to stay if you can go over the Canadian side which let me tell you, I crossed over and the whole environment was a lot different than the NY side. It makes you wonder why politicians haven't done anything to improve the tourism in the NY side. If you can go over to Canada, go...
Read moreArrived for 3 night stay, chose this hotel because they offered three beds to a room, the location that is close to the New York falls, and the free breakfast. We arrived and checked in received 2 key cards. The room was ok, tried to overlook the spots on the chairs and multiple stains on bed sheets the hair and thick dust found in the bathroom, also outside the room, the light fixtures with the largest spider web I've ever seen... (See pictures) We did notice a gum wrapper and two water bottle caps in two areas, we decided to leave them to see if housekeeping would get them the following day. The next morning as we left for the day we ran into someone from housekeeping and asked if she was assigned to our room she said yes, we tipped her $10 and asked for extra bath towels since there were 5 of us in the room and they had only left 3 bath towels when we checked in. The toilet seat was loose and was uncomfortable to sit on as you can imagine! We proceeded to the breakfast area where the line was 4-6 deep for the single waffle maker and single toaster with toast in bags where people had to reach into each bag to get a piece of toast. That was the only day we went to the breakfast area, we went to Tim Horton the rest of the days. The key entry near the parking lot did not work so we had to walk around the entire building to get in at the end of the day. Then we had key card issues where one of the two wouldn't work and we'd have to go to the front desk to get it to reprogram and we came to find out that if one card is programmed separately it deactivated the other one. I know the price of the hotel and the claim of updated rooms is enticing...but if you are looking for a comfortable stay away from home... This is NOT the place... This disgusting, dirty hotel with management that doesn't care will STRESS you out... We tried leaving a day early and the man at the front desk shared that we would be charged if we left early and he added that the hotel only makes money three months out...
