Overall a decent slice of pizza near a busy tourist attraction. I was specifically looking for a gluten free option to grab a bite while waiting for fireworks at the nearby Niagara State park (see my review on that one too!) Mario’s did offer a gluten free crust. (Not sure if they have a dedicated oven as I’m not sensitive to cross contamination so I didn’t ask).
The pizza was good. I think I liked mine more than my family liked there’s bit no overall complaints.
We were able to grab a seat right outside. Though it was all very crowded but very much expected because it’s a tourist area. We had to walk from a trolly stop at the park, because finding street parking would have been impossible.
This place is perfectly suitable for families, couples and retirees. Though I must mention that if you’re in a wheelchair or using a stroller or just need some accommodations for mobility, it will be tough here. The place inside is very small and outside is metal tables on the sidewalk and you’re not likely to get a seat. We got lucky because a family was getting up as we passed. We had my senior MIL with us and we almost had to keep going, though frankly, options are limited for comfortable dining walking distance from the park.
Overall it met our needs and...
Read moreThis is the kind of pizza I’d serve to people when I want to communicate, “never let me buy you pizza again.”
This was super floppy pizza. I promise I didn’t buy this just to rag on it, but the toppings were incredibly sparse, the cheese was greasy and heavy, and I walked away wondering why I paid so much for this pie. If I was local, I can’t imagine thinking, “hey, let’s go to Mario’s to grab some pizza.” I bought the “II Supremo” but just left supremely disappointed.
I ended up paying over $70 for a pie, three slices (for my kids), for three cokes and three waters (plus a tip). If I ever find myself in Niagara again, there is zero chance that this would be the place I’d buy food again.
Bottom line: crust didn’t taste good, terrible structure / support for the massive amount of cheese, few toppings to make it seem like it was worth paying this much for a pizza. It demands a price because of its proximity to the state park, but not because it’s...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience. The lady at the billing counter was unbelievably rude and disrespectful. I came in to order a pizza and spoke politely, but she cut me off three times for no reason and kept telling me to wait—even though there was no valid reason to do so. It was very obvious from her tone, actions, and body language that she was doing it on purpose.
When I asked her why she was treating me like that, she got even more rude. I was shocked by how unprofessional and arrogant her attitude was. I finally told her—loudly—that this was no way to treat a customer, but she clearly didn’t care. No apology. No basic courtesy.
I walked out without buying anything because I refuse to support a place that treats its customers like garbage. I have no idea what her problem was, but I hope management takes this seriously. Absolutely...
