Betty's Grill — Restaurant in City of North Tonawanda

I hate to have to say this, but I had an absolutely horrendous experience here.

I came with my fiancee, his cousin, and aunt last weekend. The latter of the two are regulars there, and know all of the staff very well. I am biracial, and we were in the outside area near the fire pit socializing with a few other patrons. An older man came out, and made a few very derogatory comments to the other POC we were chatting with, with absolutely zero interaction with him by us before that. This eventually devolved into an extremely heated, and physically dangerous situation after a group of men came to the older man's defense, INCLUDING a few employees.

The owner of the bar was in attendance, and stood back with a smile on his face, and refused to interfere. After trying to leave multiple times, and having the exit blocked by the group of men who were getting aggressive, the employees took me aside and told me it was better if I left, because I was causing unrest with their regular patrons. I was the issue, and not the people spewing hateful, racist comments, and physically threatening myself, my fiancee, and his female family members.

I hope that this review reaches other POC before they venture to this establishment, as it is not a safe place to be. The patrons are intolerant, and the staff will do nothing to defend you in the eventuality that a confrontation happens.

People people people, the People who own this place must have just Given up , " The saddest " That's the Best i can say. . . FOOD is cooked and Prepared BEHIND THE BAR ( Literally ILLEGALLY inches from the Patrons ) in a Microwave and then on a little Dome covered flat top by The Bartender Waitress Security Cook manager??? While She's breaking up a Fight at 2:30 PM which 1 guy Refused to Leave till His Drink was gone Even after Her Best attempts and Still talking isht to Others [ almost had to get involved myself ] Don't get me wrong She's a Tough Woman but a Sweetheart trying to Endure Everything come on It's Maddnes. Sign ON the Building says Best Roast Beef in the Twin City- - - I'm barely Digressing here, They NEED to totally Redo and Rethink EVERYTHING, i really don't want to say it but someone's gonna Sue and probably rightfully so. Obivously She deserves better The Waitress & Betty's, I don't ever think I had to give such a bad review especially this bad and this long, I always drove by this place and wanted to stop by to check it out, sorry to say glad I did. I know quite a few you live in the area maybe somebody could talk to the owners and possibly volunteer some help knowledge whatever, I really hate to see this place go, even after only one visit inside you really do get the sense of...

My experience at Betty’s was most Devine. The staff are friendly and very helpful especially Amanda. You can tell they are good at what they do and deserve everything they earn. I went and had a wonderful roast beef sandwich, i was skeptical due to the reviews but it was delicious. Just the right amount of bread and warmed to perfection. The pickle was my favorite part, it was crunchy and juicy just how I like em’. I recommend going here...
