Meh - Went here based off a friends recommendation. Went inside to order and lady at counter said that she wasn't taking orders, I would have to order online. I said okay and asked her wait time, she said 30min. for this take-out only meal. I ordered than after 40min I went back inside, as I still had not received a txt saying order was ready - figuring something maybe was wrong. Lady checked my order and said would be another 10-15min. I waited inside and about 10min later my order came out. My wife got 3pc tenders and I got Heater Sandwich. We ate immediatly in the car, and all the chicken was barely even warm...seriously after a 50min wait!?! Fries were the only thing fresh. Sandwich was okayish, but I really question the tenders...to me they were too tough to be tenders and the way the grain of the meat was, I am 99% certain it was chicken breast just cut into strips and battered...not actually tenders. Tough and cold chicken...not super desireable. I have gone many times to The Magnet Chicken in Penfield and will continue to go there for a proper Fried Chicken Sandwich vs ever going back to Chick'n Out. My first n Last visit! Not worth the $$ in my books. edit: It does speak volume's that the owner responded...shows that they take feedback and will probably improve their svc as a result. The sting still exists that I waited 50min for food - and last 10min was right in their lobby...to be served barely warm chicken. Adam - I will try once more, next time I am in need of a...
Read moreI was VERY DISAPPOINTED when ordering for the first time!! I went to Chick’n Out after work to get dinner for myself and my son. While there, the kitchen door was propped open while the staff was preparing food. Everyone I saw had gloves on to handle the food except one person. I personally saw when the bun to MY sandwich came out of the toaster, they touched it with BARE HANDS before the person assembling the sandwich walked over to grab it before assembling my order (the assembler was gloved). The person who touched my food with bare hands had been touching their own apron/clothes and touched other items in the kitchen area that was visible through the open door. I did go ahead and bring my food home but only took one bite of the sandwich and could not finish it after seeing that. I give them a 1/5 for not adhering to food-handling standards. I give the food 3/5 stars because after all of that, the only flavorful items were the tenders and the fries. The sandwich (I ordered the classic) was cold as if it had been sitting in a cooler part of the kitchen and was flavorless without the sauce. The Mac and Cheese was overcooked, dry (NOT cheesy or creamy), and was NOT flavorful or seasoned AT ALL except for whatever was sprinkled on top. It was ultimately not worth my time/money to go to this place. I do not expect to return unless (1) one of my teenage kids unfortunately wants take out from there again or (2) they would like someone to teach them how to make Mac and Cheese worth selling...
Read moreAtmosphere (5/5): Very cool Atmosphere. The music isn't loud but just loud enough to not drown out your conversation. The restaurant is very clean and the staff does a great job making sure tables are clean.
Service (5/5): The staff were very polite. It was our first time visiting and they were very patient and didnt get that annoying look that you get sometimes from staff when you visit a place for the first time and need to check k out the menu.
Food (3/5): First and foremost, the food isn't bad but definitely left a lot to be desired. We ordered the 3 piece chicken meal (comes with a side and a sauce). We (my wife and I) ordered the garlic fries with our meal and awesome sauce for the tenders.
The best part of the meal were the fries. They had the perfect amount of parmesan and garlic seasoning and weren't overbearing. The chicken tenders, which is why most people would come here, left a lot to be desired. The chicken itself was very bland and the breading hardly had any seasoning at all. On top of that, the breading wasn't really crispy. The awesome sauce is mayonnaise based, but was more mayonnaise than anything else so I didnt really take to that. The ranch looked homeade, which I thought was a nice touch.
All in all, its a decent spot. If you're in the immediate area, I think this place would probably be decent if you're looking for good tenders. While not bad, it's hard to recommend over other places in the area who I'd...
