I first want to say I have had great experiences in the Manhattan locations. Not my top favorites, but good enough to go back again. Last night we were returning from Yankee Stadium and were looking for a place to have a late night Saturday dinner before heading home to Connecticut. We search and saw that the Rye location closes at 11:30 on Saturdays. We got there at 9:48 pm, the hostess wasn't sure if she could seat us. She asked who I assume was the manager and he told her to seat us upstairs. We were grateful. We told the waiter we knew they were closing in 90 minutes and advised him we can order right away. We ordered a drink each, New England Clam chowder, Porterhouse for two medium rare and two side dishes. Everything was great until the Porterhouse came out. The filet mignon side had a bad odor and taste, the other side of the bone was fantastic. So obviously we only ate the good portion. We advised the waiter, he couldn't understand it. I told him I was not asking him to taste it but maybe take a whiff of the foul odor. I wasn't looking for any apologies or any free drinks or desserts. I was just trying to let them know. I understand it is late, we are the last table served and EVERYONE wants to go home. But if you want to be like Morton's, Peter Lugers or Old Homestead, You need to step it up and acknowledge it. We were worried about getting sick on the way home. Our families were and are in the restaurant business. We will give it another chance. Everyone is entitled to a bad...
Read moreAs I stepped into Frankie and Johnnie's Steakhouse in Rye, NY, I knew I was in for a memorable evening. From the moment we were greeted at the door to the final bite of dessert, every aspect of our birthday celebration was impeccable.
The ambiance was sophisticated yet inviting, with dim lighting and cozy seating creating the perfect atmosphere for a special occasion. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of exceptional, catering to our every need with professionalism and warmth.
Now, onto the star of the show: the food. Frankie and Johnnie's Steakhouse exceeded all expectations with their mouthwatering selection of prime cuts. Each steak was cooked to perfection, with a charred exterior giving way to a tender, juicy center bursting with flavor. The sides were equally impressive, from the creamy mashed potatoes to the crisp asparagus spears.
Of course, no birthday celebration would be complete without dessert, and Frankie and Johnnie's did not disappoint. We indulged in their decadent chocolate lava cake and rich New York cheesecake, both of which were the perfect sweet endings to an unforgettable meal.
Overall, our experience at Frankie and Johnnie's Steakhouse was nothing short of phenomenal. From the impeccable service to the exquisite cuisine, every detail was carefully curated to ensure a truly memorable birthday celebration. I can't wait for the opportunity to return and create more cherished memories at this...
Read moreI am not quite sure how Frankie & Johnnies in Rye received such great reviews, but if you want the truth- read on...Staff was not welcoming, our waiter “forgot” multiple items we ordered and at one point said, “I don’t know why I keep forgetting what you need” and proceeded to laugh about it , (never brought 3 of the 6 forgotten items we ordered), food was less than underwhelming, steaks were cold, serving utensils were literally thrown on the table almost shattering a wine glass, drinks at the bar were made up prices as our server didn’t look at the drink menu, but instead asked the bartender what she should charge for a particular scotch and it was double the price than what was listed on their actual menu- all this for a ridiculously priced bill at the end of our meal for $800/4 people. Listen, I would have gladly paid double had I been treated more kinder and had just an ounce more consideration and attention but because I didn’t have any of that- I felt it was necessary to write this review. And reader, if you’re still reading this, do yourself a favor and visit the hundreds of other local, lovely establishments instead...
