I walked in after 7:30pm and asked the lady what time they stopped making donuts, so that I can be considerate of their time, and her response was at night. I decided to come back after dinner because I didn’t want to deal with the lady, since she was the only one I saw at the time. Then I came back from eating at 8:40pm and everyone within the restaurant announced it was closed, meanwhile the sign said 9:00pm. I continued to hear we’re closed by multiple employees, while walking towards the door. As soon as I stepped out a woman locked the door to close up. The employees are rude and have no consideration for other people. I drove all the way from NYC to taste these donuts, and it was to my surprise to encounter rude and nasty employees. Read moreWound up here kinda by accident last night and feel it was meant to be:) Wow, super on-point barbacoa bowl- some of the best Mexican style food I've had on the east coast. Everything super fresh, presentation perfect, generous amount of meat, nice staff. This is fast food as it is meant to be. **Review update a week later: removing one star. When a manager called me back, she was very nice, got it fixed, but I remain confused as to how a software update just adds more on to the bill. Anyone who's worked in F&B knows you cannot do this. Uncool,...
Read moreThe timing finally came together this week and I was in Saratoga on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon to try the birria tacos offered as a weekly special at Taquero. Paired with my favorite drink, a Jarrito Mandarin, this was the perfect light dinner after a long day (along with the banana cream pie donuts that came for a later snack).
I absolutely love birria, making it a point to try it wherever I can - on nachos, quesadillas, tacos, and more. After trying the ones at Taquero, all I can say is, you need to make sure you have a plan to be in Saratoga on a Wednesday night.
The birria is delicious and well seasoned, the tacos crispy, the cheese gooey and melted, and the dipping sauce rich and flavorful. I would seriously eat these every week....
