Horrible management, when I want to the Cantina Taco & Tequila Bar in white plains on 8/1/2021 at approximately 9:00pm the alleged owner of the establishment attempted to start a physical altercation with me. As I was walking into the establishment the alleged owner, who was not waring any company paraphernalia. I.e name badge or uniform. Was having a conversation with a group of gentlemen at the door of the business. When I said excuse me three time, to which there was no response. I attempted to walk around them, to which the alleged owner got in my face in an aggressive and belligerent manner. Stating “that I did not say excuse me” to which I stated that I did three times. This, then resulted in the alleged owner to be come even more hostile toward me, to which I informed him that was harassment and assault. Since I became fearful of bodily harm. Since, the alleged owner was in street attire (dress shirt and a yankers hat), which he denied stating that “he did not treat me” to which I replied that he got in my face. Thus, being perceived as a normal patron who was attempting to start a physical altercation of a perceived offensive. At which point the alleged owner informed me of the fact that he was the alleged owner. To which I stated, “have a nice day”. Since the situation was not worth an altercation. At which point the alleged owner continued to instigate the altercation by repeatedly berating me on how I allegedly did not say excuse me. To which I firmly stated again that I did in fact say that three times. At which point the alleged owner changed his story stating, “that was not what I said but how I said it”. Which personally I thought was ridiculous coming from an alleged business owner who felt it was expectable to threaten someone. However, I never said that since it would have escalated that situation. Thus, I simply stated “I apologized for the inconvenience, informed the alleged owner to have a nice day, and walked away. Since as previously stated, it was not worth a physical...
Read moreI've usually had a good experience coming to this restaurant, but on Monday 9/5 I realized I'm never coming back here. I went with a friend for dinner and there was no wait or line outside. We asked to be seated at a booth and not a table top. We saw a booth available. The owner in a cap came up to us and laughed in our face and told us "I'm not sitting ya'll at the 4-top booth". We've been here before and we've sat there. The restaurant was not very busy and there was no wait. If we're the next paying customers walking into your establishment there's no reason not to seat us there.
We left to grab something quickly from our vehicle and returned. We spoke to the host at the front and he brought us to two other booths located in the back of the restaurant. We called the owner over and asked why he didn't seat us before if there were many other seats available.
This is where everything went left. He got so defensive that we were calmly explaining to him why we felt disrespected and that it's poor restaurant management. We were not raising our voices, but he was. Other tables starting to look over and this was very embarrassing. He accused my friend of being "condescending" and I couldn't believe it. He then told us he's not serving us. Mind you, we've already been given water and now you're saying we can't be served? He quickly backtracks realizing other people are looking over. He then says "I'll have my staff serve you".
For the rest of our dining experience, he sat behind us at a table top to appear menacing. It was the most uncomfortable eating experience I've ever had dining out. He was loud and he kept using expletives that an owner should be using.
As always, the food was great. The OTHER staff were great - he was not. Unfortunately, I'm not coming back here. After looking through the reviews on here, I'm actually very surprised that the same owner is allowed on the floor....
Read moreWe went to Cantina for Saturday brunch today. Unfortunately, the experience was beyond disappointing.
We ordered the scrambled eggs with cheese and home fries and it was the worst plate of foods I've seen or tasted in a long time. Bland, cold, no presentation. The eggs also came out without cheese, even though it was specifically stated in the menu to have cheese. So we called the waiter, who mumbled something and walked off.
Instead of offering new eggs, he brought over a couple ramekins of shredded cheese to add to the already cold eggs. When we asked why the cheese wasn't cooked into the eggs, which was stated in the menu, his explanation was that the cook "didn't work Saturdays" and "didn't know if everyone wanted cheese," and "didn't have the menu in front of them."
For the rest of the plate, the toast was hard, cold, and dry. The potatoes looked like and tasted like cardboard.
My friend, a vegetarian, bit into the potatoes to find a random hunk of chicken...?????
I just don't understand why you wouldn't remake the eggs...or provide hot food to paying customers, not even some salt and pepper on the food, or even just available on the table.
How disrespectful to your customers, who choose your restaurant over all the other options, in a time when everything is so expensive. We spend our hard earned money and time. How disrespectful and disappointing. Good luck to this place but we won't be...
