Van Leeuwen Ice Cream — Restaurant in City of Yonkers

6/6 I decided to try this cute ice cream shop at the Ridge Hill shopping mall. I had the Sicilian pistachio, and it was delicious. Later on that night, I went back around 9 pm, and I have to say if there's one thing that will tank a business, it's the people you hire. It was about 4 younger male/females, and I paid $8.11 for ice cream on a cone. Then, I went to the next window for my order. The lady behind me got her 2 orders, and I decided to see when my order was ready. Sure enough, the staff was just standing around, talking with each other, and forgetting about my order. Then asked me what's your ordered?. This business is too new to be having any kind of customer service issues. Service is just as important as the product you serve/sell. Unfortunately, most business will hire anyone regardless of their skills. The ice cream is not free, and the workers are being paid. I expect nothing less than good service. My nine-year-old ordered the mango sorbet with rainbow sprinkles a quirky combo, but he’s obsessed with both. He’s very picky when it comes to mango flavors and usually complains that everything tastes artificial. But not this time he was genuinely happy and said it tasted like actual mangoes.
