Let me start off by saying I hope this isn’t a family business.. because if so she won’t be coached or disciplined leading to me NEVER coming back. I usually come here after going to Westmed and usually the experience is fulfilling. NOT THIS TIME. I also don’t usually write reviews because everyone has a bad day. So I looked over the reviews to realize that most bad experiences stemmed from a lady that works there. This assured me that my experience deserved a review. Let me be clear so no one other than this woman is held accountable. This woman was about 5’7 5’8 with long black hair. As I walked in, no one greeted me and they visibly had a customer. A woman and young man was there. The minimal exchanges I had with the guy was pleasant. However the woman wasn’t. After looking at the menu I ordered a chicken club and a freshly squeezed orange juice. After placing my order the woman gave me a death stare, not telling me the total or asking me if I was paying with card or cash. I just pulled out my phone and paid Apple Pay. She asked me was it to stay or to go. I said it was to stay. My perception of Her mannerism were “oh my god WHY”. Being who I am I’m not going to allow her to force me to leave to so I proceeded to my seat. After my drink was made she brought it to me. I said thank you, she didn’t reply. The orange juice was warm/room temp on a hot summer day. After that she brought the chicken club. I said thank you, she didn’t reply. Opening the sandwich and there was avocado which I asked not to be on there. The breaded chicken was soggy while the bread had a perfect taste. The whole experience was horrible.. had I know she was gonna be rude I would’ve never tipped when I paid. If she reads this please take pride in your work, whatever that is. Whatever problems you’re having at home please leave them there. Treat others how you want to be treated or don’t come to work. Or if this is just who you...
Read moreOmg I don’t where to start. This cafe is in need of some TLC. The staff were very welcoming so that’s what the one star is for. The decor is chic and retro. This is where it gets bad. I ordered a toasted corn muffin with butter only to find a small hole in the top of the muffin with a small stick of butter stuffed in. Maybe I’m the only one but I would’ve appreciated if the muffin was actually cut in half toasted and smeared with butter. My partner order chicken and waffles. I warned her about that decision but she insisted. Her order took about 15 minutes and it’s was horrible. Her waffles were rock hard and the chicken was just a disappointment. It was microwaveable chicken because it was rubbery. I was super disappointed being that this is the only cafe around that area. Honestly this cafe should of gave a better effort to serve real food. If it was up to me give people their money’s worth and actually cook the food, no microwave. I wish I could buy this cafe and serve good ol comfort breakfast. Anyways all together my order came out to 18.00 dollars for food I couldn’t even enjoy. The coffee was okay...
Read moreThis place is absolutely absurd. If you ever eat here make sure that you ask questions because everything is an up charge. I ordered a BLT and they charged me an extra 75 cents for lettuce and tomato?????? When the sandwich is already $9.25? When I asked the lady why I got charged extra for lettuce and tomato for a BLT she couldn’t even give me a straight answer.
On top of that, I also asked for “A TEA” and the woman goes ahead and charges me for a large when I never specified that I wanted a large tea. Is a large tea the standard? Also why is honey extra? Go to any cafe In the city or anywhere in Yonkers and honey is free. I have worked in food service for some years and as a cashier you should always ask the customer what size they would like and also state to the customer when something is extra before placing the order. This place just charges you and does not inform you of anything. They slip extra charges on your order for no reason hoping that you are oblivious to the receipt. Stay far away...
