Waffle House — Restaurant in Clemmons

Yeah, that’s right. Waffle House. Come at me, bro! I actually did not intend to ever review the oft derided and much maligned Waffle House, but we were in the middle of a historic December snowfall here in the piedmont of NC, I was determined not to let that interfere with my Sunday morning breakfast routine, and, well,...they were pretty much all that was open (besides IHOP, which I will never patronize for many reasons, not the least of which being the obnoxious, contemptible “IHOB” add campaign of this past summer). And I was pleasantly surprised by my WH experience. The eggs were PERFECT, the grits were good, and the bacon had good flavor (but was cold). The waffle had a really nice flavor, but if I had it to do over again I would have asked for it to be more well done—it was fully cooked—I just like my waffles on the well done side. The coffee was a pleasant surprise, being above average in taste compared to others on my breakfast adventures. You will have to listen to the waitstaff (my server, Barbara, was great) bellow out orders to the cooks (and for the LIFE of me I don’t know how they remember all that!), but Waffle House is a viable option, especially if options...

Always something with this location. First time online order was ALL wrong. I had to sit there while my order was remade. The lady was nice and apologetic about it. So nice that i brought her a tip back after i got gas next door. However this time I got a hateful red-faced server with bun/ponytail on 6/20/2024 with a chip on her shoulder. I came in and went to the bathroom. Came out and my order sitting on a table. She didn't greet nor did her counterpart with a blonde afro puff, they acted as if it were a problem to give out condiments on a to go order. No smiles, no anything, just acted if I disturbed their conversations and happiness because I ordered. I will go to Jonestown from now on.

Also, they should take the tip request off of to-go orders. I would have hated to have tipped and then got the service that I received. They add the 10% to the cook which is fine. She/they would have received physical money like before had the service not been insulting. Why would you want to tip on an order that is just slapped on the...

One of the worst experiences we've ever had! Only 2 people working and they were arguing over food orders and who was to doing what! Cook took food off the grill and placed on the cutting board NOT on a plate! Then placed it on a plate and served it! Routinely didn't wear gloves while handling raw food from the cooler! Cook was dancing while cooking and slapping food down on the grill. Cook took food off the grill (scraps) and ate them while continuing to cook. Waiter was slow to take orders, serve food and replenish drinks. One customer waited 45 minutes for their order! We waited 30 minutes for our order and it wasn't complete. Cook got mad, or so it seemed, and went to his car for 30 minutes! Waiter assumed cooking duties as well! What a disaster! He had NO idea how to cook an egg...literally! Orders for other customers were mixed up and late being served! Waffle maker was horrendous! Overall cleanliness was severely lacking! Overall, a stark departure from our last visit to the same Waffle House! Very disappointing to...
