Dave's Cosmic Subs — Restaurant in Cleveland

I was in town for a convention. My colleagues and I found this place across the street. Man, are we glad we did. We actually ended up coming here three days in a row for lunch. We joked about coming here for dinner as well, although, in reality, we had business meals planned at restaurants.

I got the meatball sub two of the three days - I liked it so much. I highly recommend it and if you like garlic have them add a little extra to it. Day 3 I got the Reuben - which was nothing special sadly. The chips are decent and they have a nice variety of drinks as well. I also liked the classic rock posters around the place, which made for some interesting reading while waiting for your food.

You should know that this place is very small, and very popular at lunchtime. There are three tables which see about 6 to 9 people total. The line quickly fills up most of the rest of the restaurant waiting area, but the food is definitely worth it....

This place is outstanding. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. My son is traditionally pretty shy in new places and the staff put him at ease by being silly with him, despite how busy they were. I got the veggie sub with some substitutions (which they were happy to oblige) and MAN was it phenomenal. The bread had the perfect crisp to soft ratio and held up well with the array of veg inside. I was impressed with the balance of flavors and textures as it can be a gamble with veg sandwiches. I also opted to get some fries which complimented the tang of its counterpart well. And it was a HUGE portion. After trying this place I plan on coming weekly as a treat to myself....

Great food. Only getting 2 stars cause I will not come back to this location. I'm afraid of getting sick due to watching them spray cleaner on the counter. They held the spray about 2 foot away which allows for way more overspray on the counter where the food is made. Cleaner definitely went into tops of sauce bottles and on some of the vegetables. The last 4 times visiting they have not gotten my order correct at this location. Something is always added that I did not want or something is missing. I love the Subs and I am overly disappointed and will not return to...
