Hoopples — Restaurant in Cleveland

Hooples is a dive bar, but it has the feeling of Cheers. The owner Norm is regularly around and Herb is usually there serving at the bar. If you're a regular (even if you go mia for a couple years to have a couple of babies) he remembers your beverage of choice. I used to go here once a week after practice (before said babies) and I was never pressured to have more than one drink. The patio is huge and the place has great views of the river, but this place is worth going to because of the people. Cool outside patio and a good view from the inside of the bridge and downtown Cleveland. The drinks are cheap here and totally worth it because where else are you going to find drinks this cheap with a view? The service was great, with the lone bartender waiting on our group and he did a good job. The food was alright, I wasn't that happy with my wings although they were crispy, while everyone else enjoyed their food, the nachos being a highlight. I would come back and would definitely drink here but might eat somewhere...

The atmosphere and location of this place really makes it awesome! The staff is always friendly. Large outdoor patio area, old-fashioned bowling game, and darts. There is a reach-in cooler behind the bar that has every local numbers sticker on it, kinda cool. They have a good selection of beer, at a reasonable price, especially for being close to downtown.
