After spending the morning out on lake Erie, wanted to grab food that was on the way home and quick. My father had never had Penn station before so it was a perfect opportunity.
I had never been to this location before (usually visiting the ridge road location) but was right on our way home so decided to stop in. The location was a little smaller overall compared to ridge from a seating area standpoint but was generally laid out the same.
After my father looked over the menu for a few moments, we placed our order at the first register and then walked down to pay. This was a suboptimal encounter and something I observed being a pain point for most who visited this location while we ate.
As we walked down to pay, there were at least 4 other customers all standing around the checkout counter area. No employee was staffing the counter as they were all involved in prepping food or cooking in one way or another. The location was quite busy at this time of the day (around 1pm). After standing in this line to checkout, an employee finally came over to the register and couldn't quite figure out who was first and had to ask everyone what they were there for (seems most were there for online order pickup). Once it was my turn, paid and then we sat to wait for our order.
Once the food arrived, everything was cooked well and exactly as I have grown to expect from Penn station. No complaints at all there. As we are though, I saw customer after customer place an order, walk down to pay, then to have to wait for an employee to notice them (or get their attention) only to then mix with folks walking up to pickup call ahead orders and it just be utter chaos and confusion. One lady in particular was quite upset that after placing her order and walking down, when the employee walked to the register, he told her there were others ahead of her that still had to pay and she would have to wait her turn. She was confused and I could see why. Operationally, could probably use some tweaking at this location.
Atmosphere wise, it's a good place between a beauty salon and a laundry mat and the outside view is of a parking lot next to a home Depot. The display in the restaurant was old and faded and was playing rush hour until something happened and it switched over to a screensaver of swimming fish. Not a place you would want to spend a chunk of time in but serviceable to eat food and leave. Lots of noise since it is such a small location and no real noise separation between prep area and seating (typical for Penn station layouts...
Read moreThis was by far the worst visit ever to this location which is usually good. My self and a coworker waited almost 20 minutes to receive our orders. When I got mine which was a wrap all of the filling which was minimal to say the least, was all on one side with 1 piece of chicken on the almost empty side and the wrap was ripped not cut in what was supposed to be half. I'll attach photos of the wrap. Also to add to the whole experience the individual who took the orders seemed irritated while taking the orders and while waiting for the food seemed to be more pre occupied by an individual who came in only to talk to her which I am sure slowed the already lengthy process of getting food down but seemed very unprofessional as well considering there were approximately 9 people waiting for food including my co worker and myself. All in all had good experiences in the past. But today we were very...
Read moreI order my food and ask for no teriyaki sauce. Of course they put it on my sandwich. Order took forever, I am on my lunch break and going to be late back to work. I run back in and tell the cook, he explodes, goes behind a wall cussing and f-bombing. Starts to make it again. I go to another guy and asked for refund because I can't wait. He is clueless how to do it. I ask for a manager and it's the cook that is cussing. He fixes the issues, then goes in the back cussing at me and yells at me to never come back to HIS shop again. I left , was late back to work and nothing to eat. I went 10hrs with no food and work a very physical job. This guy shouldn't be working with the public, let alone as a manager. Guaranteed, I will...
