I am a huge Home Depot fan but I just can’t recommend this particular store. It’s the only HD I’ve been in where the employees seem actively avoiding interacting with customers.
In other stores I’m often approached if I am wandering the aisle trying to find something or at least there’s someone there to ask. At this store, that never seems to be the case.
When I was looking for a Christmas tree stand earlier this year, I was searching the Christmas decorations and found a bunch of stands for fake trees but no real tree stands.
I asked an associate walking by and she said she didn’t know. She started walking and I assumed I should follow. She asked another employee who said, rather curtly, “yeah, they’re outside with the real trees.” Again, wordlessly, the associate who was helping me started walking back the way we came. I followed in hopes that she was leading to the one - out of four - sides of the store that had the stands outside.
I suppose in retrospect this might have been a logical place to look - outside in the garden section instead of the massive Christmas section, which included stands. Maybe. But why the rude reply? And why did the associate who was supposed to be helping me just keep wandering off without a word? I’ve found that to be the trend among employees rather than the exception.
My other reason for not recommending this store is perhaps more sensitive but honest: the other customers frequently make it an unpleasant experience.
When I visited a few days ago, I was greeted by a couple having an altercation in the parking lot. When I left the store and got to my car, a customer decided to relieve himself in the parking lot before entering the store... sadly, this is more what I expect than am surprised by here.
Two stars because it’s on W117 and fairly accessible - although it can be a nightmare at times depending on traffic.
This remains a HD I now only go...
Read moreThis Home Depot store is constantly in all sorts of disarray. Large carts are piled up with empty boxes in the middle of aisles, and there are not enough available for patrons to use when purchasing lumber and construction materials. Upon asking if there were any empty carts available, I was told “You can find them in the aisles,” by a HD employee. We had to go outside, in the rain, to bring an empty lumber cart inside to use. Upon trying to check out, we stood in line for several minutes without being acknowledged by a cashier. There were five or six women standing in a circle, talking, drinking their coffees while all of the cash registers stood unoccupied. We then opted to self check out. After scanning all of our items and attempting to pay an employee named Shirley came over and without saying anything, took the scanner from my husband’s hand, started scanning things again (creating duplicate charges), and bagging items I specifically mentioned “did not need to be put in bags.” This process took her a FULL TEN MINUTES — so after we had already waited several minutes to check out and not be helped by a cashier, someone came and made us wait longer. Simply a huge waste of time. After reminding this woman we did not need bags for some of the items we purchased she proceeded to them DOUBLE BAG the items. I explained I didn’t feel that wasting the plastic was necessary considering we were capable of carrying the items out of the cart. She said she was bagging them so that she didn’t accidentally “double charge us for anything.” ... Four other people were able to cash out at the second self check out register while Shirley attempted to assist us. What a painful experience. I would highly recommend shopping at an alternative Home Depot store in the Cleveland area as the customer service here is desperately in need...
Read moreI feel bad because servers working there clearly aren’t making any money. When I picked my food up there wasn’t a single car & the workers were just sitting at a table. I had never had ihop so I was excited after seeing their family meal deals for only $25! We ordered the build your own pancakes, u pick 2 toppings (comes in cups, in case everyone doesn’t want that on theirs) we chose chocolate chips & strawberries in that glaze stuff. u can choose all bacon, all sausage or a mix of both. Eggs plain or with cheese (with cheese is $2.95 extra) I chose cheese. We picked all bacon but got sausage links and bacon. The bacon was hard, and only had like 3 TINY pieces. When I say hard I don’t mean crispy bacon I mean like hard & burnt. The hash browns were hard as a rock, the eggs didn’t have cheese AND not only did I not get the strawberries but the pancakes had the chocolate chips in them which wouldn’t b so bad but one pancake had 3 chocolate chips all on top of each other…whoever the cook was needs fired, im sorry to say because I’m a cook muself but read a darn ticket & maybe this is why there isn’t business bc u have someone who doesn’t care about their job. The server should have checked to make sure the strawberries were there & that the order was right. They did pack utensils & enough syrup thank god. But seriously I was so disappointed by this. I absolutely love chocolate chip pancakes and the fact that there was barely any is insane to m. Do they not know how to add chocolate chips to a batter or something. No wonder why this ihop never has business. I want to try to order from here again maybe just to see if it was an off day or something or if it’s like this all the time. I’m disappointed bc I wanted to make the kids happy with dinner but...
