We went for dinner and breakfast. Two different experiences. We went to dinner anticipating great service and food. The restaurant was almost empty. Only three tables including ours. We were seated behind a partition and were basically forgotten. Our server left us alone. Did not check on our food or offer refills. Did not offer dessert. We had to flag her in passing ..one of the rare times we saw her and ask for water. She told her assistant dismissively to water us and walked away. We ordered the walleye. Mine was crisp the others were not. No server. I would have had to seach her out. I chose to hope she would check on our meals. No. She came by well after we finished with our bill. No inquiries as to our experience even thouh breading was left on two plates. No interest on her part. The hostess and water person were very nice. I was not looking forward to our breakfast the following day but it was included in our stay. It was an awesome experience. We were seated on the lower level by the window to enjoy the morning view. Our server Marquitta helped to make our experience great. She was friendly and professional. She checked on us several times. We decided to have the buffet which great. While made to order omlettes were included we were more than happy with the selections offered. The food was fresh and well maintained. Nice variety. If review was based on breakfast alone 5 + stars. I gave a quick 5 star review initially because we enjoyed our morning experience. I expanded my review because I know our dinner could so easily been...
Read moreI had lunch at Burnham Restaurant in Cleveland, and it turned out to be a really pleasant surprise. From start to finish, the experience was relaxed, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent.
I started with the crispy Brussels sprouts, and they were absolutely to die for — perfectly roasted, crisp on the edges, and seasoned just right. Easily one of the best versions I’ve had anywhere. For my entrée, I ordered the roasted trout, and it was delightful — beautifully cooked, tender, and flavorful without being heavy. The presentation was elegant, and the ingredients tasted fresh and well-balanced.
The customer service was great. The staff was warm, attentive, and friendly without being overbearing. Everything came out at the right pace, and it was clear the team takes pride in offering a good dining experience.
When we went for lunch on a Tuesday, we were actually the only patrons in the restaurant, which was surprising given how good the food was. That made the space feel calm and almost private — a nice change from the usual lunchtime rush. You can tell the restaurant has the potential for a really dope vibe when it’s busier — the layout, lighting, and design all suggest it would be a great spot for a lively dinner or evening out.
Overall, Burnham Restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves more attention. The food is fantastic, the service is spot-on, and the atmosphere has a lot of promise. I’d absolutely go back — especially for those...
Read moreGiven the price, I was expecting an exceptional meal, or at least a very good one, but boy was this a disappointment. The quality of the food wasn't much better than what you would find at a pub for a fraction of the money: pierogis, even if served on a fancy stone slab, are still pierogis and two of them should not cost $12. The scallops I ordered for $28 were tiny and chewy, their flavor completely overpowered by the creamy linguini they came with. The "cheddar puff-rolls" were simple dinner rolls, the kind you can buy at the convenience store, served in a cast-iron pan (why?) with some kind of honey sauce. If there was cheddar in those rolls, I could not taste it. My daughter's mac and cheese came not with the customary short pasta but with linguini (probably the same that were mixed with my scallops), which understandably she did not like. There were other forgettable dishes, and a "seasonal cocktail" that should have been an interesting take on the classic Margarita but tasted nothing like it, and was more like a glass of spiked fruit juice with a rim of black salt. This is really not the kind of food you'd expect to find in a...
