Antonio's Mex-Express — Restaurant in Clovis

The picture literally gives zero justice. This burrito was the size of my youngest child when she was born. Possibly even the size of a baby elephant. The sauce and salsas are a solid ,yes !!! The chili verde is out of this world. The staff is always friendly quick to get your order ready and patient if you don’t know what to order and will even make suggestions if you are unsure of what you want. The owner is so awesome he treats his customers like family and he makes sure to have conversations with his regulars by asking how they are or remember details that mean a lot when someone remembers. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention the chipotle sauce out of this world. If you love or even slightly like chipotle their sauce will put you on the map with how much of a favor explosion it creates on literally anything you put it on. We make sure to include a meal from Antonios every single month if not more it is a staple take out or date night meal in our household. We love Antonio’s. Oh yeah and did I mention they have catering y’all (not just for parties they are great if you have a big family )and they are actually affordable not like some other places that break the bank if you get platter sized portions. Horrible customer service when they make your food wrong. My first visit i ordered a 3 item plate to go. Asked for the tostada to be placed alone in a box, they are big and get messy. Nope my burrito was thrown in there as well with the beans and juices from the shredded pork all over it. I told the girl at the counter this is why I asked for the tostada to be packaged alone. The other lady just said here give her another box and throw it rudely on the counter. Even though it was very rude I just let it go. Decided ok gonna give them 1 more chance. Ordered the chimichangas and enchilada plate to go. Asked for no lettuce or tomatoes on any of it. Not even as garnish. I leave to do my deliveries and see that there is chopped tomatoes all over my chimichangas. I called and the guy says no the tag only said no lettuce I saw it. I said well I told her to please make sure there is no lettuce or tomatoes on any of it. So he tells me to bring them back right now. I cant now I am working making deliveries. He puts my name on the list for free chimichangas next time but says I must bring back these bad ones tomorrow to get my free replacement. Are you kidding me. I had a very strange experience tonight with my family.

We ordered (I paid, not that it typically matters, but it pertains to the story), sat down, and waited for our food. The server brought it out, checked on us, etc. like usual, but the entire time, he proceeded to only acknowledge my husband, as if my kids and I weren’t there. Everything was, “How it it sir,” “Is there anything I get get for you, sir”, “Here you go, sir” (when I asked for a to-go box) with zero eye contact with me, even when I responded. Even my husband said it was weird that the server was only talking to him. I’ve never in my life felt as if I was being treated as less-than because I am a woman, but I did tonight for the first time.
